I liked the background graphics with the nice trees and leafs falling. The guitar solo was nice :) I found it abit annoying to be stuck to the ground for such long time when swinging the sword. Theme song was kind of repetitive, but I guess that is what you get in 72h ;) Good job.

The Graphics are amazing and the gameplay felt very intuitive. Therefore it's kinda sad that there wasn't very much of it. I played through the stage twice but couldn't find any other option then to kill the regular foes and then proceed to the boss, did I miss something? ( just asking because you list 'The fate of Daxua changes with your every decision.' as a feature, but I didn't really feel like I made a decision.)

The slow mo and the star wars references felt kinda random.

Good hob, although you may want to work on having transitions from walking to attack feel more smooth, maybe make the attacks move more to also create a greater impact, and make it feel more like a ninja. Anyways great graphics and good music.

Haha :P very fun little game! I only wish you could attack from in there air but I understand about time constraints and all. Also in the end I found the best method for killing the boss was just running up and slashing him to death while not dodging. Nice cheesy ending though! ;P

@Rebecca Kremer wow thank you for your compliments. I wish I could attack on air too but our programmer said it would cause some problems (bugs) so we had to cut it out. Shame on us. And the time constraints really made the boss kinda boring IMO. We could have make him a little bit more difficult to defeat. We also think about a phase when the boss play solo guitar + bullet hell spamming but there was no time left so.....

Nice job ! The game truly have his own identity, and the slash moveset is incredible. The art and the music blend quite good together, even if i would imagine a sadder track; but loved the general mood

The game seems to freeze a little when you slash several ennemies, when you'll got that fixed, it'll be a pretty nice game to show :)

25. Apr 2018 · 17:58 UTC
The art and gameplay are nice ! I wish there were some ennemy pattern that forces you to dodge. For the boss, I brought him on the bridge where the projectiles easily went over my head. I had a fun little time.

I liked it! Killed the boss second time (by not evading the flute). Some critics: Text should be bigger for sure. 25. Apr 2018 · 19:43 UTC
Cool game, though there are some inconsistencies with movement when attacking. The text box should have a smaller box above it with the name of the current character talking. Also when you get up close to the boss and just spam the attack button you can still win. One way you might want to go about fixing this is to give the boss a close range attack, but be sure to warn the player before using it by have him blink white or something. Anyway overall good job the art is gorgeous and that joke at the end got me good.

26. Apr 2018 · 01:43 UTC
Great job! I loved the art and style of the game. It was very atmospheric and added to the overall effect (plus, I'm a sucker for that art style). Aside from that, I felt that the combat was a little bit off. It felt very repetitive. The first few kills were very satisfying, but after that it became autonomous. A possible fix would be to add more combos or even different controls to initiate them. Overall, well made game with a huge amount of potential.

Great Job!

Side note: The humor during the boss battle was great. It took me off guard and I laughed way too hard!

Presentationwise it's among the best I've seen, very nice! Great visuals, sound and atmosphere, and even a proper boss. The gameplay would certainly profit from a few improvements and a little more variation, and I would've liked you to go a little deeper with the whole music thing. And a minor thing, the texts were visible very shortly, I sometimes had trouble following. Waiting for the user to press a key might be a good idea here. Anyway, great entry overall, these kinds of games are what makes me come back to Ludum Dare. :)

Nice game and easter egg at the end. After the win, I wanted to check if death is possible. My character stand still when an opponent attacked. I like blood effect on corners, however after some time player sees rectangle border of blood. It's an issue in such a beautiful game.

@Jonathan Lorenz yeah thank you for your compliments. Im glad that you like the art and the music. And to be honest, we dont tend to combine game genres that much. Because in the theme annoucement topic, the admin said that it can be film genres, art genres or even music genres. So we think that we can combine pixel art character + vector art environment. Classical music + kinda Japanese funny flute music + retro music. And we combine the joke too. I think the theme doesn't matter that much. Anyway thank you again.

Nice game! the animation and atmosphere, with the falling leaves and colours and all, are really well-done. Most of the game is just like push the button to smash [though it's nice your hits sever your enemies' heads, that entertained me ^^#] but the final boss is a bit more original - the additional memes in the dialogues is a nice touch. It ain't long but it's pretty well-polished - can't wait to see what you'll come up with next time - nice :-D
