I wasn't sure what the was happening with the "enemies" and when and how much they were taking my energy from me. Pretty big small world down there :)

Hey, not bad! The zooming mechanic when you have not enough knowledge or mental(?) energy is very nice, I did get lost quickly at first :) the sound effects fit very well I think.

This was a great game!

Very eerie! (wonderful :musical_score:)

Simple game mechanic that makes a straightforward maze much more challenging...

Good job and congrats!

I really, REALLY dug this game's vibe! Something about the color usage.

I'd like it if the camera kept zooming out even after you've collected a ton of books, and kept zooming in all the way until you have to restart the level

Great work!

The zoom in mechanic as you couldn't find books was really neat. Well done! :)

Really loved this one! Everything worked together cohesively to create a very ominous and creepy mood. The graphics, sound, and zoom-in mechanic work together to achieve this.

If I had to pick some things to critique: I thought the main character sprite looked a bit boxy, particularly the cloak. And it wasn't quite clear enough that the enemies were hurting you from a distance. At first I thought my character was like, auto-attacking them when I saw the purple projectile thingy.

Minor nitpicks aside, great job!

Very nice creepy mood, the music fits perfectly!

The zooming is a good idea, but once the camera gets really far, my thoughts were "oh no, I have all of this to explore/collect, and the character feels really slow".

Like the art, music and overall atmosphere a lot. The core mechanic is very interesting, but is very punishing - I mean by that, that if the player is bad, you are then punished with no visibility, making it even harder to find what you are looking for. The 'pick stuff up to see more' thing is a good idea though.

Well done, thanks for sharing!

You did pretty well, mate! Everything in the game is placed in the right place and it all work togheter, bringing an immersive atmosphere with a lot of tension!

Congratulations!

Cheers!

Interesting game. I thought it was cool that you have both life and also visibility. My main issue there was dumb luck, even with full visibility, would cause me to go down a dead end and I'd completely run out of visibility on the way back. Not sure how you'd change that, but it was kind of an issue.

I loved the color scheme and the music, it all came together to create a cool vibe! The zoom mechanic was really nice, a fun game to play!. I didn't want the game to end, I wanted to explore the creepy dark world that you created. Great work!

This game was surprisingly cool. The art style and music were surprisingly effective. The camera work was creepy and foreboding. The last level where all the enemies moved was really hard.

Nice game with a great zooming mechanic.

An improvement would be to add different types of enemies and making them a bit harder because it felt very easy strolling past them. If they did take my energy level down there was usually a book nearby for met to fill up again so it wasn't much of a punishment.

It was a good simple game.

Really loved it, I think the enlightenment idea + zooms out works very well. Mysterious music and rogue like feeling is great too

I think the idea is great: the time limit and the zooms in work really well. It has nice to find a game like this!

very nostalgic Venture-like graphics worked great for this.

having the camera zoom in on you also felt pretty claustrophobic, in a good way.

Really loved the camera. It creates a great pression, without being too dynamic.

The gameplay is simple but well made, and it fits the theme really well!
The mood is really cool to, made me play to the end!

Cool entry, congratulations! =)

I like the mood , the music and the idea of the zoom:) but after level one it getting boring. I think if there was a monster that want to find you and kill you or something like that , it will be great.
Overall great work:)

Very neat concept. I like how you need to conserve books.

But in the end, it's just a maze game! (Beat it!)

The soundtrack works well. Using the world size as health is a cool idea. Although I feel like the gameplay and graphics could benefit from a little more variety, overall this is a good entry.
