Spent way too much time on aesthetics, ran out of time and wasn't able to add any sound effects or a proper ending :/
But I am really happy with what little I have managed to get done, and I hope to actually turn this into an actual game, probably a roguelike.

This is absolutely marvelous! Gameplay is fun and intuitive and the art style is flawless. I seriously can't get over the visuals, that was truly stunning. This entry is to be taken seriously and is a serious contender, great job!

Very pretty game! It was quite fun to play and keeping in mind to manage your attacks with your life was a good idea.

I found it a little annoying that the souls after attacking could get stuck trying to get to you in the map and the trajectory of the attacks doesn't quite work with the shape of the world, in narrow places is a bit tricky to attack.

Wonderful looking game! Creative take on the theme. I can see this as a fun rougelike with characters that cast different magic and in a bigger dungeon. Enjoyed it thouroughly :)

Really good game! Love the art, idea and gamefeel of the game! I would love for it to be a bit more balanced, giving more space in the corridors to learn how attacks work (since attacks need a bit of space for them to be casetd) and to have more space to avoid enemies specially at the beginning but also since the mechanic of losing health to attack makes all the game actions more risky I think a bit of extra health would have felt nice! But overall it is a good game ^^

5/5 on all, this is an amazing game. The boomerang style mechanic is really unique and deserves praise. I think the corridors are a bit too thin at times, unless you add a way for the souls to ricochet off in a wild sort of way. I'd like the areas to be a bit more open to allow me to have fun with the mechanic. A more thought out level design could take this further into a full game. Keep up the good work!

This is sooooo good!

Couple issues I hit (mostly opinions):

* It took me a while to realize firing was going to kill me (I went in cold)
* The first weapon only shoots to the right, which means if you are stuck in a dead end with enemies coming from the left, you are dead
* feels like a magical spell (your attack) shouldn't collide with walls
* Feels like life shouldn't collide with enemies when returning

The aesthetic (design, visuals, and music) is AMAZING, seriously. The game play is marred by the fact that it doesn't feel like you can really control the attack and given that it's effectively an action dungeon crawler, this really hurts my ability to have fun with it.

But still, really great entry!

Wait, are you sure? You probably found a bug, because it's supposed to shoot in the direction of your mouse, alternating clockwise and counter-clockwise.. You can even (kinda) see this in the gif. What OS are you using? This is just really weird, no one ever reported this issue...


Also, yeah, after playing for a bit I also realized that the first spell should probably go through walls.

This is great stuff!! I love the pixel art! You said you didn't had time to add any sound effect but FOR ME, it wasn't a bad thing! I kind of like it this way.... sure, maybe add a little feedback sound to let us know if we're hitting the enemies (I was never sure if I was really doing nay damage LOL), but otherwise.... I like that the music is the only sound I can hear! I think it gives an eerie feeling to it?? Dunno, just my opinion!
