Super fun game as always.

The art style and music are great.

I just wish holding control would delete a whole letter or the whole command for when you mess up a lot.

aaa the character designs are so cute, i love the look of this game. it's also extremely well polished, which i really appreciate. really nice music and sounds too.

it would be nice if there was just a bit more variety in the commands for each file, i ended up typing the same things 3+ times in a row occasionally. i also find it a little weird that you cant enter a line when you take damage. maybe it's on purpose though. other than that, it's a super solid game. i could definitely see myself playing this to improve my typing speed, haha. nice job  i really can't get over how cute and clean this looks. it's so good.

@ajayajayaj @torcado i've applied fixes that make the backspace key function how it should when held and prevents the same prompt from appearing multiple times in a row. thanks for the feedback!

Yeah Ctrl+backspace would be so handy. Sometimes my enter press didn't work, so I took some extra damage :(

Really nice execution, I loved the sounds and graphics. UI was very simple, although it took me a while to understand how to use the scripts, because I thought I just do "1, enter"

Also remember to keep the compo v1.0 version available (+critical bugfixes), you can have an updated version in another link, but the original must be the one people play!

DUDE! So cool! Absolutely loved your game! Made it to level 11 but then things started getting a bit hard with words like... CCAAADFGGF? Come on! ><

The art was simple, but very clean and the aesthetics are great. The sounds and music matched the game nicely. I'll echo what torcado said about not being able to submit a line after taking damage. The first couple times it happened, I thought it was a bug. The cause and effect was not clearly shown to the player.

Overall, this is a great entry. I'm going to wrap this up now, my fingers are tired from all this typing!

Great game! Your cute art style makes this game really enjoyable. I find typing is so fun while playing this game :)

However, I think it is slightly off the topic since the theme is just in the background story. Overall it is great.

@hegemege just to clarify, would the changes i've made so far not be classified as bug fixes? i'll post the updated version to newgrounds or something and keep the 1.0 on itch.io if that's the case

@electr1ca Most of the changes you made could be classified as bug fixes but not the balancing change. The rules officially state stuff that

"We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested."

So, changing a design would not really fit that criteria.

However, it's always nice to keep the original around as well.

@electr1ca I think the line is a bit blurred, balance fixes that make the game more fun to play are not considered critical, unless major parts of the game are affected/blocked by it. Then again, your small changes are quite insignificant to the whole experience :) I think the game stands well even without them, they are sort of "quality of life" updates.

@ajayajayaj @hegemege thanks a bunch, i'll keep those things in mind! (the character balances have been undone.)

A fun typing game! Played it with all 3 characters and it was a really fun experience! You should make it a bit easier though because I can't reach the end.

I really liked the graphics and animation, and the sound effects fit nicely. Having 3 chars to choose from made it feel really done. I wish the could do damage whenever you typed and you didn't have to wait for your character to finish taking damage/AI to do its turn. That way, faster typers could do more damage. More variety in text would also be nice, but this is a solid game overall!

This was a lot of fun! I didn't expect a typing tutor game to be this enjoyable. (It might be nice to have an easy mode so I could give it to my son to play so he can get better.) The battle sounds are very Earthbound-esque.

Great game, cuter graphics, but why symbols?! My ':' was registered as '>', had to try every single combination of keys until found how to write ':' then lost. :frowning2:
I loved it nevertheless, though.

AMAZING GAME! One of the best that I've played here, definitely. I like typing games and this one combines it with nice elements like the rpg-fight style, with HP and the possibility to use itens, the mechanic of upgrades in-between levels and bosses! Very good! The art is cute, the sound effects are nice, a good job indeed. I think the only thing that I didn't like very much was that when I finished typing and hit enter while the enemy is attacking me, it won't sent, I had to hit enter multiple times to send the word. It would be smoother if you could just furiously type in a continuous manner.

I really enjoyed this game!
I could get to 30% but not further. (I would have liked to see what happens when you win ^^)

The graphics are really beautiful and give a good style to the game, and the sounds go together with it, this works well.
I liked the three characters you can choose and the little friend who come helping before the files-boss, there are really great ideas to in the bonus scripts.

Really like your job on this game!

i really love this!! the art is really cute and the scripts added a really fun element to it where it would otherwise just be a standard typing game! though apparently even though i type really fast without making typos most of the time i apparently cannot do so under pressure hah..or maybe i was just tired when i first played through it who knows
the one problem i really have with it is that it did seem kind of strange to me how quiet the whole thing was what with there only being any background music during the upgrade parts? but maybe you ran out of time to add background music to the battles or something i dunno

Yay, I made it :D ![win type.PNG](///raw/f65/81/z/1a925.png)

Lost the first time but got it the second time! The difficulty was just right in my opinion, with the upgrades and all. It gets really intense but really fun at the same time and I loved how each stage had its own theme (coding, music, school etc.). I absolutely loved the graphics and animations, both the player and enemies are really charming :) It feels like if this was the fighting mechanic of a full game with story and all it will do well! :)

I didn't get any scripts at the very last stage+boss run after the upgrade though, I was worried though I managed to beat it. Perhaps one more script would be satisfying :D Oh and the script's effects work nicely too. I wasn't sure if I can keep all of them at once, though! I tried to limit myself to having 3 maximum at one point :)
