Extend that cord! by Zirrrus
Thanks to everyone who played and rated my game, special thanks to all who left feedback!
The game
This is nowhere near finished. I ran out of time on designing levels and interesting mechanics/obstacles because I focused on the graphics too much. Now it looks pretty but there's not much to do. Anyway, about the game:
You are an extension cord and have to get to the socket with a limited amount of movement.

Controls
- W(Up arrow) to move forward
- A(Left arrow) to turn left, D(Right arrow) to turn right.
- You can only turn when you are moving forward! That's mostly to prevent ugly kinks in the cable :P
- A note about the controls: They are momentum-based. That means when you hold forward you slowly build up speed and once you let go you keep going for a little bit. Because of this they can feel a little sluggish, especially the turning, the whole movement still needs some tuning.

Dev problems
My intention was to publish this as a WebGL game to make playing it less of a hassle but every time I try to build it in Unity 2017.1, the build fails. So the UI might be a bit messed up with certain resolutions/aspect ratios.

Maybe with more mechanics (the oil is a good start) this could become interesting. You came to the same conclusion too so... Do continue working on it, if you have the time. The basis for something enjoyable is there, no doubt.
It just needs some more mechanics as it is pretty repetitive... But the idea is there and that counts :)
Plus definitely work more on controls. One thing is hard controls and another are kind of broken (and this fall more to the second category in my opinion as I had few bugged instances when I was turning without me holding the key etc. )
I surely had fun, graphics are fitting and you have one of the best UIs I saw at any game for now so kudos for that too :)
In general I found that I had to hold turn down way before I actually wanted to turn and then it was hard to stop turning. However, I could 'rewind' and then all of my turn 'momentum' was gone which made things a lot easier. Not sure if this was intended or not.
Thanks for the game!
I like the game and mechanics, the controls are a bit tricky but it's ok
the controls felt a bit frustrating or not precise (i.e I turn more easily by pressing forward many short times rather than one long time)
Overall, I like the idea. I think the controls make it a little too hard for my taste, and some music would help a lot, even if it's not made by you. Since you're on a jam entry, some music from others, or even free to use music from websites is allowed, and would make your game a lot better!
