Help keep the ossan (Japanese for "Old Dude") warm so they can sleep!

Best enjoyed fullscreen with sound.

  • Click and Drag to move the ossan around.

  • Mouse Wheel: Rotate ossan.

  • Ossan appear at the edges of the level. Drag them within range of the fire and they will start sleeping.

  • As they sleep you can see how much time until they are rested.

  • When ossan are rested , remove them from the fire range to score points.

  • If you remove multiple rested ossan in quick succession you get a combo multiplier, this can dramatically increase your score.

  • The fire slowly gets smaller. Logs appear at the edges of the level. Drag them into the fire to make it bigger.

  • When ossan bump into each other they become less rested.

  • If 10 or more ossan are out in the cold, it's Gameover.

Great game! Very polished. Love the art, music and sounds! I love the fact that you have to move your dudes with care to keep them happy!

I played this game way longer than I meant to. It is oddly creepy yet intriguing. It's like tetris with people. I can't think of any obvious criticisms... well done!

Addictive and really solid mechanically. Fantastic art and audio. Having them roll around a bit in their sleep might introduce an added level of difficulty as they knock each other about. Great game.

Here's my quibble: it's hard on my tendons to click-hold and rotate my mouse wheel after 72 hours of clickety-clicking on my own stuff. Oh, and I could do with more of an on-the-nose lullaby type music. I loved everything else about this game and gave it seven 5-star ratings.

This is a very polished game. Graphics and audio are great, fun mechanic.
So many different factors to tweak to keep the old dudes happy.

@znw They weren't supposed to be homeless :P But they totally look homeless. I was hoping for more of a going out camping vibe. At least they're happy hobos!

Really incredible art! The gameplay is cool and relaxing even though I didn't really get how I made combos & stuff.

@constantin The combos just come from scoring points in quick succession. When you score a point, you have 4 seconds to score another point to continue the combo.

Scored 1030. This was such a great game. I was so engaged with this game. I felt bad when I couldn't put someone near the fire fast enough. I can't think much to critique about the core game play I think you guys got it covered. Really enjoyed playing it can't wait to see what else you guys do.

There's something unbelievably creepy about this. Still a great game though. Did have an issue where they would get stuck together sometimes. Also I feel like it should rotate faster when I scroll the mouse wheel.

Very fun concept, fits the theme very well. I think it wouldn't be far fetched to see this game being released for android tablets and ipads.

Really clever idea and great use of the theme! I was also relieved that the people's sleeping bags weren't flammable haha :D

A very good game, but it seems that selecting the people is sometimes unresponsive and makes playing the game harder. It might just be my internet, though.

@bustosman Try the Windows version, it might be better.
Also, while the guys are animating onto the screen they can't be moved, so when the animation completes, they suddenly jump to your cursor.

Beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed struggling to keep these old dudes warm. All of the little grunts and moans were brilliant as well as the styling of the animations. Great job! xD

Music was amazing! Game was really fun, it gets very stressful very fast, in a good way. I was pretty bad at it though, best I could get was 580 points (couldn't get to the next level at 600 though I did try a bunch of times).

Great mood and visuals as well.

Worked really well! I liked how much emergent "strategy" came out of such simple mechanics and the art added a lot to the mood and humour. Those big green fellas are a pain to wrangle though haha.

I'm a professional nuzzle attendant :blush:

very interesting premise! the game runs smoothly and it was very responsive. rotating the guys works well if you have a mouse and fitting them around the fire, moving those closer to the center outside as if they were barbecue was definitely fun! well done!

I think the circles in the middle of the men could have been a little better explained (I wasn't sure if it acted as HP or something similar) bu aside from that minor issue this game's good all across the board! I like that it isn't just a funny concept w/o any humor in the game (a mistake I see a lot), instead the visuals, sound effects and physics gameplay go a long way to build something funny and enjoyable beyond the simple concept.

Pros:
- Beautiful graphics
- Nice soundtrack and voice acting
- Amazing gameplay

Cons:
- Can get very stressful after a while ^^

Haha, cute and original idea! The mechanics are simple, but give emergence to quite intricate strategy. I love how everything plays together from the logs which you have to leave room for, to the score multiplier which gives the game rhythm, if used well. The graphics and sound effects are really neat! One of my favorite games this LD!

Quite funny, well done, lot of polish but i didn't see how much of 'old people' were out of the fire ring, so it was suprise to me when i lost - maybe there should be some big in your face 'counter' with screen shake or something.
I got 1200 points, record is 1400 so i'm proud of myself :)

Simple gameplay and graphics are great! Good job!

I got 710 points :smile: A really lovely game, the difficulty is just right on, not making you frustrated and still keep it challenging to play. The music really helped to add the mood to the game. Very solid entry, good job!

Great proof that a simple concept can be fun. I think I need to learn from this small scope; I always scope too large. Interesting layering of the vocals in the BG track too-- again, not what I would do, but has an interesting appeal. Nice work.

When I first started I didn't realize that you had to remove the rested old men from the fire (that's what you get for not reading the tutorial), so at the end I had everything full of rested men and then I just swept them all out and got a massive combo bonus :D

The second time I played I couldn't even get near to that by managing old men normally.

Anyway, It was a great game. Gave off really cozy vibes. You should develop it a bit further and then even maybe sell it somewhere.

pretty cool game. i like the graphics and the little details in each character. the gameplay is pretty sweet. easy to pick up, challenging, and addicting. the use of the theme is great and very creative! the music is also spot on, adding to the mood of the game. the dragging mechanic was okay but i found it hard to rotate them using the mouse wheel. the wood sometimes get stuck with the ossans. this could be really big if you develop it further! overall, a great game for this LD!
