The Infernal Knowledge by Koficola
My first game jam game! I sure hope you have more fun playing it then I did making it! ;) WebGL build is a slightly updated version of the compo thing.
A weird 2.75D first person fight game wherein you must fight eldritch demons in a variety of desolate hellscapes. Claw your life from the hands of these beasts, all the while learning their darkest secrets and gaining their incomprehensible strength - but beware the effects on your fickle human mental state!
Its mostly really stupid though, so don't even worry about all that. It may even give you a chuckle or two I hope! Also any bugs are because your character is going mad and its actually really good lore and fits the theme because the stuff you've learned mangles your head up. Honest.
I think the game turned out pretty good considering my talents, but is still missing a hefty amount of features that could make it my magnum opus/a mediocre game, such as some insanity-based game modifiers or any sort of loss state (for now you can only feel a bit of shame when the eye in the corner disappears). I shall continue working on it and hopefully make it good at some point.

I really liked your writing quotes in between levels. They were so silly!
Really cute game, and the back-breaking sound effect is really satisfying.
I really like your visual style and the fact that you combined hand-drawn 2D graphics with an ego-3d engine. You can never have too many Cthulhus ;)
Unfortunately there wasn't much of a challenge, as I didn't think the Cthulhus were able to hurt me.
I also got stuck in the level with the columns because the door wouldn't appear. There was one defeated enemy leaning on a column, maybe that did not trigger the door.
if I have 110 beaten Cthulhu, the number in the book will be only 10 (do you show only last two numbers?)
And some of Cthulhu are stuck in the others (when they lie on the ground)
Also it felt really satisfying to kick the Cthulhu off the platform...
But the game overall felt too easy...
