Were there any differences for cat vs dog besides the GUI? (great details, btw)
Wow
- Much X Men Theme!
- Very sacrifice!
- So level design!
Could be better
- The number of particles during the pre-boss battles are too damn high!
- Hard to see what most of the drones are doing because of it (which is why i kept the spread shot till last)
I like how when you die you can just restart, that is a really nice touch.
A great arcade style game.
Graphics had me nervous but they really work for this game and the humor.
I wish I could play full screen (My mouse kept leaving the game) and I wish there was some different dialog between the cat and dog (I played through the first enemy the second time), but otherwise fantastic.
First, because they feel a bit floaty. Second, because after sacrificing a drone, your ship tends to fly off after the mouse cursor, leading to a quick demise.
Other than that though... a very competent shmup! You might try playing around with bullet engines like bulletml; they'll allow you to produce more interesting patterns without much work. Also consider difficulty options for shmups in the future; balancing these things for LD is near impossible.
Really though, the pacing was on point for LD, and it was fun enough to keep me engaged to the end. Nice work!
Congratulations!
Really a nice STG, with wonderful innovation and great polish.
Brilliant submission!
A very very impressive entry. You also created a true screenplay. In comparison my shmup entry seems very cheap.
So it's a 5/5 for you.
