Strange Keyboard by el-pepi

[raw]
made by el-pepi for LD 40 (COMPO)

Your job is to press the keys displayed on the screen, but more keys keep apearing!

Controls: -Mouse to look around -Click to press the keys

I really didn't want to miss this LD, so I made this little game in 8 hours. This was made using Unity 3D. I didn't have 3dsMax installed on this computer, so I made everything using cubes.

I streamed the whole thing, you can watch it here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/206431512

I hope you like it!!

Simon says/typing simulator. it is really odd having to look at keyboard to type.

This is the first typing game I've played that doesn't require me to use a keyboard. The graphics and audio create a nice, kind of creepy ambiance. The difficulty curve seems just right to keep people hooked. "I know I can do better next time!" My only complaint is that sometimes I would hear footsteps, but when I turn around nobody is there. I guess they were in the hallway.

The mood in this game is awesome. Sounds effects and graphics are on point especially the keyboard sounds.

Really impressed by this game, the mood is perfect and little detail of using the monitor lights as lives is really awesome. It fits the theme really well and it has a nice difficulty curve. Only negative point I can find is that the power button on the monitor doesn't do anything.

@fakeyou yeah, that button is suposed to quit the app. I didn't have time to remove it from the web version. Thanks for the feedback

My hand started cramping up because I played for too long without noticing :P Really fun, good take on a typing simulator!

Okay for some reason I really enjoyed playing this, there's something about having to hit the keys in game rather then on the keyboard that I liked a lot :3 The graphics are totally fine for what it is, same thing for the audio. I loved that entry, amazing job for 8 hours :D

Such a simple idea but beautiful execution. Felt pretty responsive and I liked the small detail with the door making a sound when you click it.

I don't know if this is meant to be a horror game but I freaked out every time the footsteps played behind me!! Definitely contributes to the overall uncomfortable mood, especially once the keys start piling up.

Conceptually simple, but extremely well executed; honestly seems like the game isn't missing anything. Cool stuff!

7955, really great game and thanks for the HTML5 version. I could really imagine this being some sort of small VR horror game where you see a reflection behind of someone behind you on the screen :)
