Nice game! It reminded me of Slay the Spire a bit. Gameplay is good and it fits the theme. The sounds were solid too. I see you did some tweening on the cards and they move very smoothly. I also think the boxers' names are humerous :D. I only wish that there were more boxers and different card types. Although, it was a game made in 48 hours so I can't complain, only compliment the tremendous work done in that small amount of time. Some better graphics and with some more gameplay, you could make this a thing! Well done.

I enjoyed the variety in characters. The game didn't seem to reset after I lost, which would have been very nice, was a little annoying to have to keep restarting the web browser, also being able to skip the intro would have been nice.

Really nice game! Reminded me a bit of Guild of Dungeoneering.
It would be nice to have a quicker restart of the game or maybe even just the fight when you lose.
But other than that it's really well made!

Hard game. I couldn't beat the 3rd guy (the fast one, cant remember his name) I liked the Punchout feel of the different characters though. Also, nailed the theme.

This is a solid base card game. It would be nice to see this evolve further. There isn't enough variety in cards to have a lot of strategic options.

The theme and mood are very well developed. They are an excellent adaption, and the mechanic of choosing whether or not to spend your stamina to play various cards fits perfectly.

I liked the mix between Punch-Out and CCG. Lightning Larry is tough! I think I could have beat him if I had more stun / punch cards, but it seems like I had a bad draw and was left with a bunch of blocks. Good job with implementing the card interface! Some background music or crowd noise would add more to the atmosphere, but I know most of us don't have a crowd of people readily available for a 48 hour game jam. 😄

I really liked this, well done on finishing a card game. If I could offer one piece of criticism it would be that it really wasn't all that obvious when an enemy was attacking. Nice game :smiley:

@levidsmith I concur with your suggestion and have added some crowd noise I had lying around, and it does indeed improve the atmosphere.

Not a bad take on the LD theme if it's not a for a typical card game wannabe gameplay I guess it could be much better. Overall gameplay is not that bad but game gets repetative soon. Graphics look like a joke.

Cool entry, I like the game, but I find it too difficult! Receiving one card per turn isn't enough, 2 would be better. Also, I think that the player should loose when having exactly 0 stamina.

This is a really good format and well-executed for the timespan. The life trade-offs really matter and that makes the game fit the theme a lot more. Having a serious in-game tutorial is a big deal as well especially with the shorter 48hr timespan. Good dialogue on the fight and such as well.

My main issue is that the life pool doesn't increase between games or restore much mid-match so eventually I can't use uppercuts and such, but the enemies have a lot of health so I need to do that damage.
