Your ship’s hull is damaged, taking in water constantly. And while you get your pumps to work, a pirate ship from a far of distance is firing at you. Objective is to keep pumping out water while constantly evading cannon balls so your ship can escape!! Game is made using Gamemaker, Photoshop, and various sound editors :)Sample.jpgWrecked.jpg

Update: Made some sharks and healthboxes to help with the game :)

Fun idea. I really like the visuals. I wish I had more time to react on the cannonballs coming down. That UI element could live in that empty space under the water instead of covering up my visuals on the cannonballs.

Amazing artwork and sound! I had a blast playing this. As others have mentioned, the UI covering the cannonballs made it challenging, but overall still a great game experience. Great work!

I was not clear to me how I was supposed to avoid the cannon balls. My guy didn't get hit by them, but the ship did?

Good art though, and I liked the gameplay even though I'd always die after a few shots.

I'm not quite sure how to evade the cannonballs, but I love the art style! And the game is definitely challenging.

Cute game with a nice art style as others have said. I think it would have been better to have the UI on the bottom so the cannonballs could be seen earlier. It would give the player a bit more reaction time. Also it was a little hard to tell what the hit boxes were. Fun little game, made it around 8000 meters after a couple attempts. Good job!

The title design and the art is great! The music is a little aggressive but maybe that's just me haha. I also wish I had a little more time to see and avoid the cannonballs. Good work!

Agree with the others to move the player down to see the cannon balls. Thought maybe I could tell what cannon they come from and dodge from there, but doesn't seem like it.

Your game Don't Sink is a really cool idea and really puts the theme of "The more you have, the worse it is", into a really cool game. I enjoyed the game a lot and the idea of having to constantly keep moving to avoid the attacks while also trying to keep your boat afloat is a really cool idea

Pros:
- The audio of the game was really nice and made the game had a nice and happy mood to it which I really enjoyed
- The Idea of the game was really fun and interesting.
- The concept of having to choose which side of the boat to pump out of the water was really cool.
- The menu screen was really good and nice.

Cons:
- I think you could have explained how the overall mechanic worked a bit better.
- As stated above, there is no easy way to avoid the attacks as they appear out of nowhere.


Overall this was a really nice game and you should be proud of what you achieved. :)

Overall this is a nicely polished game. Only probs I had are that the Hud is a bit obstructive and explosion radius is a bit large.

Haha, the music is amazing! Very simple gameplay, abit hard to avoid the cannonballs though as they appear right above you.

Cool gameplay! And you transform the theme in good simple game! Music is good but i missed a pumping sound when you pump.

Nice stuff. Graphics are cute and the gameplay is solid, just like a snake. I think the music gets a little bit obnoxious after a time, but besides that everything is fine.

The art is what makes this game shine. Overall I think that this game got potential. The core mechanic could be really interesting, if you would add some twists to it. The UI is in the way when trying to spot the canon balls, so moving the UI to either the left or right side could improve the experience a lot. I also want some feedback on when I get hit by a canon ball. The canon ball seems to hit me even though it shouldn't, which gets very frustrating. All the things I mention are things that just need polish and more time, after that the game has the potential to be great. Really nice effort!

PS. The boat is going REALLY fast :D

Fun game with a well-executed art style. Missing sound effects and some better feedback. Also it seems like the cannonballs hit you when there's no way they should be able to.

Hey I played it on stream it was really fun!

I liked managing to keep the ship afloat while avoiding cannon fire from the pursuing ship :yum: those sharks were really lethal!

One thing I thought was missing was some red indicators of where the cannonballs are going to land - It was quite unforgiving especially with the explosion that took away a good chunk of my health in a blink of an eye.

A feature I would add if you are taking this post jam would be an easier way to grab those health packs - Maybe have a harpoon gun that can pick up the rafts that you can (bring in) with the middle cabin - This would give a better reason to move away from the pumps, getting greedy with the incoming upgrade/cash/health rafts - and bringing the game difficulty up and creating choice (you could actually mistakenly bring a shark in to damage the boat!!) :yum:
