Nice entry. The dark level is a bit difficult but I was able to finish it after some tries. Good use of theme. Congratulations.

I liked how you used the theme to bring to light a sensible topic in nowadays society. Poor cows :(

Vocês construiram perfeitamente o sentimento de agonia com a arte e o áudio. Sem dúvida um jogo pra refletir. Excelente trabalho!

It's a sensible topic that people try to avoid so it's nice to see this. Very nice game.

Nice entry, the overall ambiance is unsettling and playing the cow and hearing its heart pounding builds up the tension.

Maybe you should remove the "Humor" rating though, I don't think your game is the best fit for it :)

Very intresting subject ! The mood is very well done but the game is redundant at one point, you should make it last a little less :)

Interesting subject, but it felt like the dark (Slaughterhouse?) section was drawn out a bit too long. I ended up dying near the end of it, and being sent all the way back to the beginning and having to replay several minutes of the chase sequence felt overly harsh, so I ended up putting the game down there.

A smidgen to political for my taste but it gets the point across ;) Otherwise nice game

hope you'll rate my game as well - and feel free to give your honest opinion.. it's my first game

Feels more like a cutscene then a game but you managed to create a good atmosphere :)

A really good idea to share this kind of message through a LD.
You really fit the theme, congrats !

Cool game but at least add a few checkpoints in the dark level, its quite long and having to start all over again is quite tedious

Nice entry. Lovely how you want to raise awareness. I'm personally vegan, so definitely thumbs up for this one!

Pretty gruesome when you consider it's not far from the truth in factory farming (though I think chickens have it worse).

Well, now I've played like a cow for the first time!

Really surprising. i can figure out how you had such an idea. But the felling was very good

Wow, such a good game. The animal condition is a dramatic issue IMHO. Nice to see jamers involved and using a video game to give a message. Makes me think a lot about my next ludum. Well done!

As a vegan myself this hits close to home.. I like seeing games like this which are willing to stretch the boundaries of what a game "should" be. It's important to have these kinds of games.

As far as rating game wise, this get's very low "fun" score for obvious reasons, this is not a fun experience, even if it's a valuable experience overall. the use of art, audio, and atmosphere is amazingly done, very well done.

I just hope people get over this being "political" and see this for what games could be. much more than just silly toys, but actually delivering an experience.

Thanks for making this game, it'll sure be memorable.

The graphics and message are very nicely implemented in the game, but I do think some checkpoints would go a long way in the dark level. The atmosphere was really ominous and perfect for the message you wanted to convey, so great job there!

I played without reading the instructions or to know something about the game. at first I didn't realize I was a cow, took me some time to move and I really didn't understood what I've done at the beginning, but after that, I understood the sacrifice stuff and the message was very clear. the game wasn't hard, I felt like the challenge was... missing? but it was a good game, I enjoyed playing. great job guys

Really memorable entry, with a thought-provoking take on a sensitive theme. Aside from the great mood and the courage required to make a political point on the internet, it probably is one of the best pieces of environmental storytelling I've had the opportunity to experience during my three LDs.

Pros :
- Environmental storytelling. The blood on the slaughterhouse ground, the cries of other cows, the flies, the color palette... They all blend together to great a memorable experience
- No need of an UI, and it's a good thing
- Great pixel art
- Atmospheric audio that creates an adequate mood
- Thought-provoking

Cons :
- The slaughterhouse part is a little long. I am not really sure if making it a challenge was the best idea, as the game is already plenty oppressive as is, but I might be wrong.

All in all, awesome job.

A very sensitive topic but a good entry nonetheless. You really got your point across. I loved the graphics but the game itself could've been more of... a game. It was a little too dark for my taste but overall, good job!

The mood, graphics, and audio were awesome, but as a game, it was boring to play. The dark section definitely was WAY too long (I didn't even make it through that whole section due to how dull it was). Like, maybe 1 minute of that would have been about right, but I think I was going for like 3 or 4 minutes before I killed it.

The idea of the game is very good, fits well the theme. The first part of the game I did't got it. The second part the slaughtering corridor is the nice idea, but i think it was too long.
Nice message, if you have time and want to polish the game, it would be great to play again. Good job!

Good entry. The Slaughterhouse/maze was a bit too long but that didn't ruin my experience. Really haunting music and SFX, a job well done. Hats off to you, pal

I don't really like it. Not because of the message - I respect that - but because gameplay is not very exciting

Your game is so creepy and sad. And this heart beating... Because of that I was as nervous as our cow-hero... These dead cows during our journey, these blood marks on ground... brr... Very good game, you play with people emotions! :P

This game is very good, the meaning of your idea is good.

The graphics are nice, I like it!

It's very sad, and I understand why...

Good job :v:

This is a tough game in terms of the theme but nonetheless entertaining. The walking part may feel a bit over extended and punishing if you fail, I think checkpoints would do the trick. Good job!

this game will make you vegan. But in al seriousness I really liked it, very atmospheric and the only downside for me was the pacing, the slaughterhouse maze was dragged out a bit too long imho.

Good work guys. Always like to see team made games at Ludum Dare.

I really like the mood and how the audio supported the mood. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do at first, but learned with some trial and error. For example, I tried collecting the cattle prods as pickup items. But I got really far on my final playthrough. I was so far ahead of the blades that I went off screen and died. That was frustrating but I read that was a known bug and wasn't too upset.

Keep making games!
