The soldiers are really funny to me (not in a bad way) due to the way they are modeled and coupled with the wacky physics. Stiff control that aren't very satisfying, could have been a nice little game with just more polish in general in all areas. Cool use of the theme. Needs more juicing as presented in this talk

The concept has been implemented nicely, but most of all, the visual presentation is very nice. Good job 👍

It's a pretty solid game, it's impressive you managed to do it in three days. It's fun and easy to understand. The graphics are nice. The gameplay, as a classic shooter, is quite good but it's frustating having to go back to the beginning of the stage every time. But good job anyway, it's a nice game.

Incredible graphics but I'm not a huge fan of the gameplay.

Having to go back to the base -with nothing to do on the way back- breaks the pace.

Also, I find it hard to aim precisely and the difficulty is too high. I couldn't even beat lvl 1 :(

The amount of polish, both for the graphics and in overall structure, is really nice. I agree with @azziliz that I had a tough time getting through the first level, since it's not clear if there are any extra helipads to re-gain health. The aiming was a bit fiddly but I find that's all just part of the challenge. :helicopter:

nice helicopter movement. explosions worked too, and you can even move barrels with the copter.

I liked the game overall but I did have trouble with aiming my gunfire. Other than that it was nicely done!

Nice graphics but I also found it challenging to aim my gun. I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvWeoxTQbD4

Thanks a million for playing my game.
Yeah I also noticed that the game was jittery.
Did you play it in the browser?
Also I need to fix that the helicopter movement must aim more strait.
This game is meant to be 2.5D side scroller.

Nice visuals and sound effects, well done! The game itself was a bit too repetitive too me and kind of tedious having to fly all the way to the beginning of the level to refuel - some more helipads would've helped. It was also frustrating that I blew up even though according to the energy bar I still had some left. Also, the camera likes to lag behind the chopper which means I can't see what's in front of me.

I finally got around to repay your comment on my game. :) Let's get you to 20 ratings!

The snaredrums at the start instantly made me think A-team more than general military, but that's because I am a product of the 80s. The game looks good visually, the style is quite appealing. At first I didn't pick up on the difference between my own troops and the enemy soldiers, but that resolved pretty quickly.

Aiming was quite hard. I assume this was the intended challenge, but because of overshooting my targets I kept having to back up and try again, which didn't make things feel very fluid. The alarm sound is pretty shrill-sounding. I get that alarms *should* attract attention, but it came off a little too harsh for me.

All in all pretty fun for a while, but some room for improvement left.

I loved the graphics, the colours were nicely chosen, although I think the terrain would be greater with poly art too. To me the energy mechanic is fun and also a (exaggerated here) real world problem that is ofter skipped in helicopter games. It would be fun though if there was something to do as you are flying back. The enemy's were decently diverse and looked adorable. Also thats quite a few assets for 72Hs by yourself. Well done!

I love the way you can push these little soldiers to help them move faster and see how they flip. Visual style is quite interesting too. I had some troubles with the controls since you can't do both W+D to make a forward+up movement, but it could be a feature. And I'd recommend to put another helipad (or fuel bonus) after the second turret to reward a player and create some sort of a checkpoint.

Here is my playtest:

I won't copy others comments about controls I just say I like the idea of aiming fire by moving helicopter. It's nice game that require some work here and there. Graphics is nice but the helicopter is too simple compared to the background. No need to say "power fuel" - everybody knows that it fits the theme and "power fuel" sounds kinda weird.

Hehe, love your potatoe soldiers!
About the jittery scrolling/helicopter, maybe try to put you camera code in FixedUpdate() instead of Update()...
