Intro

You are one of the sacrificial victims of an ancient ritual to please an evil god. You get thrown in the middle of a volcano, and you have to survive by throwing everybody else under you. Only the last man standing will get to go home.

Master a skill-based fast-paced action game by collecting all power-ups and outclassing your enemies. Bang your head to the sound of kick-ass heavy metal riffs and your opponent's screams of despair.

But be careful! The surface of the arena shrinks with every wave you complete! Don't slip and fall!

CONTROLS:

  • Move with WASD
  • Push enemies with Mouse1 (Left Click)
  • Dash around the arena with Left Alt / Mouse2 (Right Click)
  • Sprint with Left Shift
  • Jump with Spacebar
  • Mute the Background Music with N (but why would you? It's BANGER)
  • Mute the Sound effects with M
  • Zoom in/out with Scrollwheel
  • Quit with Q / Escape

The Linux build is actually a Windows build. I watched the playthrough though! :slight_smile:

@vilix64 I exported with Unity for windows/OSX/Linux, it should run if you have mono installed *I think*. I'll try to test tomorrow to see if it works on Linux too, but I just had no time to test when the compo ended.

The music and sounds were awesome! I liked the premise of the game and overall execution was good. I did run into a bug though. I was on wave 7/15 and I had booted all of the other people off the platform but the wave never ended. I just kept hearing a bomb/mine exploding over and over again. The announcer's voice was a little hard to understand when he said the name of the powerups. Could just be me though. What I was able to plan was pretty cool and I found myself immediately hitting enter when I died to try again.

Music was awesome and sound effects like "Oh shit" really made it special. I think the original idea of pushing others into volcano was good but it kind of lacks depth. Keep up the work! ;)

It was fun to play although few bugs that i found below:

- laggy mouse when turning
- enemies do not push you - just walks toward you
- not all powerups are clear what they do (i have headphones but some text with powerup would be appreciated)
- game got stuck on stage 3 and no enemies was spawned anymore
- jumping feels stiff and unresponsive a little bit

Great entry overall and awesome idea - music is nice - kinda reminds me Q3 arena :)

One of the more fun games I've tested this compo. First time I played through I think I had the same problem as @bartosz - I heard a couple of enemies hit the lava without ever seeing them, then no more would spawn, but I played through again and it worked fine after that.

Pretty fun though, sort of easy in that the enemies don't push you nearly as much as you push them so you just have to avoid getting close enough to the edges (although it did take me a couple of tries to finish, so maybe not a bit easy).

Haha, I had quite some fun with it! I think the fall screams go so well with the music, it makes it so hilarious and satisfying :D

Man this soundtrack gets you pumped up! Idea is very nice and the artstyle works with it. The game feels a bit too easy though, some of my waves had no enemies and I had no idea what the powerups are doing. It's still super satisfying to punch the enemies into the lava though :D

This game rocks! Very nice music, especially taking into account that you played that theme by yourself.
There was a bug when no enemies spawned at all.
Very dynamic and thematic entry - nice work.

The sound and voice effects when the enemies fall down is amazing. I had a blast playing this game.

I'm really against what you have done with the camera, kinda wanna be able to move it about on the y-axis aswell. The enemies spawn very slow in my opinion and doesn't really make any challenge.

Nice take on the sound design tho, you could have randomized some of the sounds in pitch tho so it would be more dynamic.

I love the sounds and the concept fits the theme brilliantly. Would have preffered a little more camera controls and maybe some different enemy variants. I also really like the music. Overall a very solid and funny entry :)

Nice work! Controls are nice and tight for the gameplay, although I wish the dash didn't feel so teleport-ey, and I didn't really see any point in jumping. I really loved all the VO. The enemies yelling as they fell off was great, and the Quake like narrator was great. Nice power-ups too!

i am not a huge fan of the light reflection in the plane maybe you could have used a bit better material/model. the rest is really entertaining especially the sound effects and music. cool game ;-)

Excellent sounds! Despite the simplicity of the concept, it was a lot of fun to push people around; I got to wave 8! The controls felt a bit sluggish in that I had to hold a directional button for a bit for the character to start moving, and I couldn't really find any use for the dash or jump, but otherwise I had a very good time.

Really fun game, and loved the music! There was one super tense moment where I was pushed almost to the edge and it felt very dramatic :)

At the end of wave 6 I beat all the enemies but there was a bug where the game would not advance to the next wave. I eventually sacrificed myself to the lava and then saw the end-game via the playthrough video.

Anyway, very cool entry!

It's kind of rare to focus more one audio then graphic, but I'm happy that somebody finally did it! Music and sounds are awesome!
