Solid! It was a tad slow, but the mechanics worked well and the style's nice. Only thing I had a slight problem with was the music, being quite neurotic. Good entry though!

Nice game, really liked the style of the game! Good introduction. I first didn't understand what the hat on the slider was, but after a while I realized it was the indicator for the balance of the hats.
A bit annoying that there was no way to skip the long conversation in the beginning, when restarting you had to listen to it again.

Thanks for the story telling !
I loved it. Loved the idea, the graphics, the musics, animations, sending multiple hats... Everything looks good.

Maybe making it a little faster should give a better experience.

Thanks for this game :)

Pretty funny game, good graphics. But as said earlier, there is some strange thing with time, after restarting level it looks like constant slow motion mode.

I really liked the graphics and the overall mood of the game. The idea of launching projectiles and catching them is super interesting, and i think it can be the concept of an amazing game. I had a bug when getting in the upper-platform, the camera not following me, and the overall experience was a bit slow. I didn't really feel the LD40 Theme in your game, because i didn't feel like the game was gettin harder when stacking hats. Anyway, great work guys : D

This is very impressive! I love this game, this is my favorite game i have played so far!!!

First of all, I managed to complete the game with a score of 6 hats. Well, now i feel proud of myself.

The graphics look so fucking good, I love it. The pixel artist should be proud of himself.
Concerning the audio was worked out in a nice way, the music felt good to listen to and it helped to set the mood.
Overall I enjoyed this game a little too much, i played for at least half an hour. I had an amazing time playing it. This is so innovative and I will definitely come back and play this later. You guys are genius. Thank you so much for this experience and good luck in the future! Have an awesome day, and I hope to see you in the next jam!

A very nicely polished game that oozed charm. I liked the boomerang style mechanic of tossing the hats. I wasn't entirely sure why my hats were disappearing though and it would have been good if I could skip the intro after having seen it before.

That was pretty fun! After I got the hang of the controls, it kept me genuinely entertained for a few minutes. The music doesn't fit pretty well though, I admire the effort, but I would turn it off.

The game was fun! I like the concept of stacking hats and throwing them like boomerangs. I wish the intro was skippable after seeing it the first time as I would have played more rounds. The camera shake was almost too much for me. My hats sometimes mysteriously disappeared when I was throwing or trying to catch them while fighting enemies and eventually I had no hats. I found I kept wishing the hat would throw where I clicked, instead of the direction I faced. Overall fun game and a neat concept :)

Great music and graphics! The gameplay has a good base but is probably a bit too slow - faster walking speed / enemies and movement would be great. This ties in a bit with the intro which is great the first time but gets old very fast - it should be skipped when pressing the throw button or something like that.

I'm playing on a laptop as well and it would be great if there were keyboard keys to throw/catch hats - it's a bit akward on a touchpad.

Great game, like the graphics style, and I love the concept of it. it's very hard though.
I would have liked a skip button for the dialogue, and I'm still not sure I understand all of the mechanics or how to play properly, so maybe better instructions or something.
But nice job anyway.

Not many entries have this much polish, let alone an actual plot of sorts and introduction sequences. That already catches the attention, but the gameplay doesn't lag behind. Using hats as a cosmetic, a weapon and a hindrance is a clever way to make the theme work, having them around as ammo that can at any point be lost if one's not careful enough.

If there's any feedback, it'd be to make the first waves a bit shorter. In comparison to later ones, they're extremely dull, and ramp up the difficulty at a boring pace. Regardless, the gameplay is very solid, and the overall production values are of high quality.

Well done, and I hope this entry goes very far. In behalf of our team, we wish you have a very productive post jamming session! Kudos! :whale:

**Pros**:
* Awesome graphics
* Great music
* Very fun gameplay
* Very good link to the theme
* Feito por BR :D

**Cons**:
* Having to go thru the initial interaction with the boss everytime I restarted was a bit annoying
* The balancing mechanic took a while to understand
* I had a very strong urge to jump and go up, but couldn't! :D

I was relatively liking the game... Until I got my hands in the special hats!! Now I totally love this!

Musics and graphics are *just* amazing, and the game overall is pretty fun. The only thing that was actually bothering me is the main character's slow movement speed, but I understand that this choice was made because of the hat balancing feature.

Very cool concept with beautiful art. The controls are very smooth and easy to master, even the balance thing. I have to admit that I didn't played too much because I got so annoyed by the initial dialogue. Seeing it every time was a harsher punishment than the death itself. I think that different hats having different powers/patterns would be a good improvement to the game. Great entry, guys!

Nice polished game.
Mechanics is interesting and need some time to control it (but it's because it's original)
The restart is a bit long (and I quit because of it after retry 4 times, and start to master my hats...), and I had a strange blur effect on the typo...
But nice work!

Interesting mechanic! My hats felt like they would disappear randomly though, maybe I was getting hit somehow? Sometimes they would be balanced, but then they would all fall off anyway so I wasn't sure what was going on there. It feels a bit weird how you're really only on the bottom when there's so much level above you, but it was nice seeing incoming enemies. I liked how everything in the art was made out of hats. Keep up the good work!

Really liked the mechanic of the catch and throw. The graphics are really cool also. Was not very fond of the music and i kept losing my hats for no apparent reason. The idea of balancing the hats is cool, however i feel it could be expanded a little bit more. Overall a very good game!

Beginning the game was rough for me, I had to die many times to learn the best winning strategy that I can come up with.

My strategy was wait at the second level for them to fall down. This is because the jumping enemy movement was more predictable on the top level than the bottom level. I kill as many as I can and if any of them escape to the bottom level, I finish them after the timer runs out.

Levels do feel too slow-paced, and I think everything could be faster: the player, the hats, and the enemies. Maybe not right away, but over time. I wish the boomerang also flew a longer distance. I feel like I have to get too close for my comfort.

This is just my personal thoughts about the game. I like the pixel art and your own hat twist on the Ludum Dare theme. Game was charming and a great entry for this jam.

The game is pretty good, another good example of a good lowrez art, the music fit the theme and the little story is pretty cool, the concept is really good I love throw some hats =p The only thing was hard to me was the controls, I wish they were simpler, the combination of keyboard and mouse made the "learning curve" longer than I expected, but nothing that made the experience worse, it only took more time. Overall it is a pretty polished game very well done, impressive, good job !

Cool mechanic and I love the cute little story at the beginning! It took me a bit to figure out that the bar at the bottom was for balancing hats, especially when I only had one or two hats. I really love the feel of throwing and catching the hat though, especially with the red ring feedback for catching. I think more visual feedback could be useful for clarifying losing the hats, especially when there's a lot of other stuff going on. Very cool overall, nice game!

The gameplay is great. The concept is really fun. The theme is included... Very well done. I love the "catch" mechanic and the most important thing. Very fun to play.

Great work!
Andreas Ragen Ayal
07. Dec 2017 · 18:05 UTC
The catch is a pretty good mechanic. It makes the game a bit more challenging.

The platforming isn't as good you can barely jump, unless I misunderstand the control scheme.

Also, sometimes when a hat is on the floor you cannot pick it up. You need to do like two passes before it is registered...

But all in all, it's a pretty cool game!

The idea is pretty dope! You mixed some interesting and different mechanics, awesome graphics and cool music together and created a pretty cool game. Feels polished and is fun to play. At the beginning it was quite challenging to understand and not die or lose your hats constantly. Would have been a bit easier to get started with maybe more than 1 life and an option to skip the dialog. Apropos dialog: I really loved the intro. Short story presented in an interesting and clean way without losing much time. Good job guys!

Interesting concept, but I found it really difficult to get the timing down and didn't make it too far in. I wish I was better at playing this, because it seems like a pretty polished entry!

It's cool that you added an intro sequence too, but it would have been nice to make the little bit that plays when you restart skippable (especially for people who suck at the game like me and have to see it multiple times in quick succession, haha).

Great work. It's incredible that you managed to fit in a cut scene and dialogue in there too! The design has a great retro arcade feel. The only real downside for me was not being able to skip the dialogue at the start of each new game.

Great visuals, sound and idea. But I can't help to say it felt a little buggy. Sometimes I threw my hat and it just didn't go the way I expected. Sometimes I lost too many hats at once. But hey! Ficou da hora!

I think that's one of the more fun hat games in the jam, really like the art style and the boomerang mechanic is very well executed, only the music was a bit to penetrating.

Great game! I really like your art style. And game concept is cool and funny. I love to throw hats like a boomerang and fight with interesting enemies.

Some notes from me:
- Maybe you can add skip button at start dialog, because after 5 restart it's kind of boring
- Some bugs I found as I saw:
When I end of energy the character can just hang in air and do nothing while you keep Jump button

When I looked at the desert color palette and saw the hats balancing on the head, I felt charmed. I use a trackpad instead of mouse, so when I had to switch between keys and trackpad, I felt incompetent.

Very good game with nice art and music! The gameplay works well and has a good number of different enemies for a game made in 72 hours. I have three suggestions:

1. Don't show again the initial dialog after a Game Over.
2. Score counter! I beated the game, but was no reason to keep playing.
3. Don't use a dark theme for a game about a space magician who steals hats.

Nicely done. I am embarrassed to say that I couldn't get through the first wave, but I felt like I was getting better. Great take on the theme and nice game play. It would be nice to be able to skip the dialog, but that's pretty minor. Here's me playing the game: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/208554206

Really liked the mood of the game and the sense of humor was good too. I struggled a bit with the throwing and catching mechanic. Felt like it should just return and make it easier on the player. Hopefully, you spend some time polishing it up. Could be a fun little game!

Love the intro, graphics, and although I didn't pick up on the hat balancing mechanic until after I played and read the description, it's a cool mechanic!

Reminds me of Mario Odyssey. I found catching returning hats to be a little unintuitive and made the game hard to see what having a lot of hats was like. Either way, great take on the theme!

Fantastic. Probably one of the games that fits the theme in the most original way. It took me a while to work out why I was losing all my hats, but it made sense eventually. Super fun, great soundtrack, nice pixel art and most importantly - fun!

The only problem I had was I couldn't work out what the end of wave hats did (if anything) maybe they were just for show.

Either way, fantastic job!

P.S. Thanks for leaving feedback on our game!

Fun game. Little slow to begin with but it is fun. Visuals where amazing, lovely aesthetic. Music was a tad bland but enjoyable. Took me a few attempts to understand the balance bar but that's because I am an idiot haha. All in all it fits the theme really well.

It feels really slow moving back and forth, obviously you've got to balance the hats but maybe an improvement could be a burst of speed which makes it even harder to balance.

The bad guy's cape flap animation looks really cool. The balance meter is a nice feature and it feels good controlling it. This is one of the funnest games I've played so far. Well done all around. My only complaint is it takes awhile for a wave of enemies to get to the ground. I felt like I was waiting longer than necessary.

Unfortunately, I didn't really understand how to play and the gameplay was kind of hard for me. I would have liked if the game had a better tutorial. I did like the wall jump mechanics and the double jump mechanics though. I thought the concept of the game was also pretty innovative from the story to the gameplay. I also liked the interpretation of the theme. The hat balancing mechanic was pretty creative and original. The graphics and music provided a beautiful aesthetic in the game. I loved that the music soundtrack wasn't too repetitive unlike other Ludum Dare games. I also think that this game was pretty humorous because of the whole story. I especially thought the opening screen of the game in where it said "Save The Hats" was pretty hilarious. Overall, this game is not too bad in my opinion.

Hah, a really solid entry! Hilarious premise, and an interesting central mechanic! Didn't have TOO much trouble balancing hats, really; just a matter of NOT walking to stabilize yourself. Not a lot of monsters needed horizontal movement to deal with, anyway. Perhaps something to force the player to move back and forth rather than wait for the monsters to come to them... The hat-shooting part is pretty solid, though, seeing as you have to snag them back or risk bonking your hats off. Seems that the best strategy is to get up to their face and spam throw and pickup.

Other than that, graphics were stellar, music and sound was alright, polish was great. Ran into a bug on death that allowed me to keep playing, though. Still, amazing entry, good job!
