Wendy the Witch in "Mind Your Damned Business!" by DEGLIS

[raw]
made by DEGLIS for LD 44 (COMPO)

You are Wendy the Witch, who has been tasked by Beelzebub himself to summon him for world domination. But, this summoning requires the sacrifice of blood...

How to Play:

  • Kill enemies by drawing a blood circle around them using left click.
  • Drawing a blood circle drains your life, but killing enemies restores it.
  • You can slow enemies down and block projectiles with a barrier spell using right click.
  • Killing enemies gives you mana. Reach 1000 mana to summon ya boi Satan. - Clicking on your hut will allow you to purchase upgrades.
  • Farms provide a slow supply of extra blood.
  • Cauldrons provide a steady supply of mana. wendy screenshot.png- When in a tight spot, the spacebar will kill all enemies on screen at the cost of 25 Blood.

This is my 4th finished Ludum Dare, but the first time doing Compo. I ran out of time before I could do audio, so just treat it as an 'atmospheric experience.' 😉

Post-Entry Note: If you're having difficulty killing enemies, make sure that your lines are not actually touching them. You must draw the circles around the enemies, not through them.

MS Paint meets the princess of darkness. Gave me a good chuckle and had an interesting central mechanic, felt a little floaty, but overall good stuff.

Your Idea fits the theme perfectly. The game is quite challenging, but that's okay, I think. I had a bit of an issue with the mouse movement in the game. It seemed like the mouse slowed down, when I moved it very fast. This made drawing the circles difficult.

Some nice moody music would fit well, other than that, you've got a great game here.

Lmao, I'm feeling up for some world domination this evening. Oof, this is addictive. Had to forcefully put it away in the end. Upgrading damage early on helped a lot. Good take on the theme. Loved it!

I like the game. It fits the theme. I love the idea of drawing circles. I think the problem is that the game is too slow (I mean mouse movement and screen after death).Anyway it's a good game.Nice job!

Painting like crazy, but still can't kill a single enemy. The game is f****** hard.
The mechanic seems interesting. Good job!

The mouse movement is pretty weird in this one. I like the idea, but its way too difficult (or I'm too stupid to figure it out). I keep spiralling the blood around and around enemies but it only does damage sometimes and I die in seconds every time. Interesting take on the theme, but I think it needs a little more work.

Hahahahahaha this is definitely a winner in the humour category for me. Fits the theme well and is fun to play as well. Only feedback I have is that drawing circles near the house sometimes makes you inadvertently enter the shop, and sometimes enemies don't take damage even though they're circled (or vice versa), but it's still a great entry. Amazing job
