CoinStory
This is my first ever entry to a Game Jam
- please enjoy and I welcome feedback!

You are a coin. After being dropped by your old human, you want to remain free to value your own life.

Avoid humans while traversing the room, using your ability to activate things around you - but be careful! Using them to help you isn't free and you'll lose some of your value as currency every time.

The game isn't super long but there is music and dancing!
If you like to follow me on either:
- Twitter itsandyjones
- YouTube WTG
That would be great!
Art is all original by me. Used Aseprite for the animations
All code was written solo by me but some elements are modified versions of code from helpful YouTubers: - FriendlyCosmonaut - Shaun Spalding - I have included the Source Code - its by no means any good and its messy (because I was rushing towards the end) but maybe it will help someone!
Sounds came from either of the sources below: - WolframTones - LeshyLabs - and one of me rolling a coin on a table..

Whats the worst that can happen..
Thanks though
Also the UI is nice and minimalist as well.
My only major feedback is to make that first dialog skippable, as it interrupts the games flow if you are trying to speed run it and get a good time.
But well done, keep it up. :D
If you use up all your currency you become "Worthless" this was in an attempt to fit the "Your Life is Currency" theme. Thanks for your feedback, glad you played!
78.52 is an impressive score either way, thanks for playing it again  Here are my best times with my [Dev Knowledge](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/coinstory/coinstory-speedruns) of the game (I know the route very very well!
I really love the game! The super clean presentation resonates extremely well with me. Gameplay is basic, but charming and fun. The Audio fits really well too! Thanks for making this game!
Your feedback is really kind thank you, made those 3 days completely worth it!
80.63 is a good time! Thanks for taking that time to play it!
But is there a final goal ? I've travelled all the map and didn't find a proper objective to reach.
Some recommendations :
- Maybe lower a bit the death sound, it pretty loud
- The teleportation system from one room to another is maybe a bit weird, like I've been teleported too far from the side of the screen I should be
- When I died, I had to take some time to figure out where is the coin. Like everything is Black and White, its much harder to find it. Maybe add some color just on the spawn or a big black circle around the player that disappears ? It could be usefull to find the player at a glance !
- The same problem appears with the life bar, it's hard to find it for the same reasons
Anyway nice entry ! :v:
There is a goal, in the room where the "wall" objects make a sort of  shape there is a little gap in the wall at the bottom (mean to be a door) it isn't very clearly marked, again, something to do better next time!
- This was my first Jam and first time using any sounds in a game, so I definitely need to learn more around how to choose better sounds / implement them more effectively / consistent volumes
- I wrote the teleportation system myself "to make it easier" to world design - in reality this would have only been needed if the game was more than one "world" - overshot it a bit on this and clearly a bit buggy.. lesson learnt!
- Dying and the Life Bar/Coin Stack where actually the last things I added to the game  I didn't really know how I wanted to handle it so I agree it's far from perfect and is definitely something I would put more focus on earlier in development next time around.
Once again love the detail in your feedback thank you! Will really help if I even decide to put myself though all this again
Thanks for your feedback though and hope it didn't ruin it too much for you! Thanks for playing
