SPORTS by Forest
Update: Like so many others, we are affected by the Chrome update breaking Unity's sound. But if you click on the game while it's loading, that seems to work around the problem.
Play a nice game of SPORTS with your friends! (Sorry, multiplayer support didn't make the cut for LD, but we'll come back to this game later!)
Controls: * WASD/arrows - Move * E/Shift - Switch character * Space - Attack * P - Pause/Skip Cutscene

Congrats guys :dog:
The half-time shenanigans legit cracked me up. And the "good game" song got a grin out of me. So yeah, I think you deserve that Humor 5 star.
Really great game! Maybe having a bit more control over the ball would have been nice. I was mostly clearing out enemies since the AI was much better at actually handling the ball ^^
Other than that a really brilliant game. I went back to try and salvage my first huge loss but got beat in the last few seconds.
The visuals are stunning although I would have liked for the weapons to have some more impact/over the top animations (the sword one is already perfect).
Overall a crazy and fun game!
@DevBayer, That's definitely what we wanted! We'll probably keep going with this when we get a chance. We had so many ideas for even more madness we couldn't get to!
@frogcheese, yeah, when we improve this, I hope we can improve the ball control a lot. We actually wanted really high scoring games, but the goalies ended up so good that we had to make them stationary to get even a few goals. Still so glad the humour came through. That's the score we really wanted to nail!
@Schu, Thanks! It sucks when something gets stuck. It happens to players too sometimes, but we didn't have time to chase down why.
@baczekadam, you can switch between players on your team with E or Shift, but do you mean switch the type of the current character?
@Sibi, We really wanted to do more with the weapons. We had stuff like a dash planned for the spearman, but we just barely finished, so it ended up very out of scope.
During one game I somehow lost the ability to move my character. The arrow pointing to the character would still show up when the screen moved away, but controls didn't respond anymore and I couldn't switch characters. I think I caused it by switching characters rapidly at one point. Still won since I had a big lead though :D
It's a bit hard to know where to hit your opponent but I think it's a part of the pleasure.
I've missed the switch button at first (my bad the instructions was just below) but perhaps you can remind them before starting the game.
Good job!
haha, thanks! I'm happy you liked our game despite the glitch! (I know very little Chinese, I used Google translate)
@Fernando-Labarta Just be relentless like a 2GHz CPU!
@arche-san Yeah, we relied on the instructions being outside the game a bit much. We'll def add a controls screen when we polish this up.
@SeaHam Thanks! Zamboni's gotta tough job, but keeping clean is important!
Sometimes it felt like my attacks weren't connecting when they should, but it mostly felt great.
The halftime body-zamboni was an awesome touch! Great job!
I have to edit this in: this game feels sooo much like bloodbowl! without the turn based stuff complexities! Shared it with my bloodbowl buddies!
Your game feels like a direct approach to the jam theme! Not overthinking nothing and just give some medieval weapons to the players is hilarious!
5/5 !
This reminded me of Blood Bowl but I had trouble getting the ball to go where I wanted, which felt more like Rocket League. At one point the ball flew off the right-hand side of the field the camera followed it, and then nothing happened ever again. It was interesting that the ball changed appearance. Did it also change how it acted?
