Story

Suddenly you die from a long sword in your chest while being robbed! As you open your eyes you encounter yourself with the underworld god and he offers you to come back to life but only if you act as a his servant. You accept the offer and obscure powers and a new body are given to you. Your new task is to kill as many people as possible to comply with the underworld god's plans.

A curse is cast upon you to fulfill this task and that's that every second that passes your life will drain out and the only way to regain it is by killing people. After this, you are transported to a temple in the realm of the living where you have no choice other than to kill every villager that is praying there. You kill them all except for a child who returns to the village and warns everyone.

You suddenly hear hundreds people approaching. This is your last stand! Make no mistake! Don't let anyone live!!

In it's core gameplay is good. It would be nice to have more feedback from hitting enemies. (Like enemies reacting to being damaged). WebGL build took so much time to load. If you used .wav for musics, it might incrase the game's size dramatically. You could try converting it into mp3

Very stylish game. Hitting the player with wall of text at the start is not the best idea but you had some pictures wich made it a lot better. Solid entry!

The first thing that struck me was how nice the music and ambiance of the game was. The visuals are striking as well. I especially liked the menu background. The game is really hard though, so I didn't survive very long. Great job!

Pretty awesome! I loved the aspect of managing spells and needing to life drain off the dead to heal. Also, being able to pick between using dead for healing or damage is a nice aspect.

Some comments on user input -- Scroll wheels and right-clicks are tough for laptop users. I discovered using the 1,2,3,4 keys to switch between spells, otherwise it would have been unplayable for me. Having a key for raising the dead would be nice (unless there's an undocumented one).

good music and graphics? gameplay also pretty good, but the absence of collisions of most objects looks strange

Very impressive! I really liked the music. The fire stream would not hit the enemies most of the time and I couldnt figure out how to keep my life from draining even though I was raising dead. Good job you guys!

Plz play and rate mine. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/lifeforms-in-space

Sweet entry! Nice graphics and sound effects too. Spell management is pretty fun in a horde type game!

@eric-smith Thanks for the feedback, I understand your points :D The fire stream is actually hitting them, you just have to fire it on the same enemies for a while. Raising dead and draining life are different mechanics, draining life is the spell with the blue icon :)

I love the graphics and the sound. I think there's not enough feedback when you hit an enemy or when an enemy hits you, sometimes it's not clear, but it's a great entry. Congratulations!

Overall I really liked the game! The plant roots spell seemed a bit too strong, I could just alternate between that and Life Drain and I only died when there were enough archers hitting me with arrows to push me across the room anytime I tried to heal.

No matter what I tried, I couldn't get myself to heal. The background looks cool, but the player is kinda blending into the background. Also that font/color combination for the intro was very hard to read.

It's a well done game, the graphics and music are great and he controls feel natural :)
I just found it a bit too hard but maybe thats just me, and also something easy to fix with tweaking numbers ;)
What I personally didn't get at first, is that I need to drain life from the guys I killed :D
I know for yourself it feels natural because you work on the game for so long but you know how dumb players are :P A little overlay text over the first corpse for a hint might help :)
(and yes I know time is tight in a gamejam :D)

Overall a great game, I enjoyed playing it! :)

This was fun and reminded me of our game a little bit (we have the endless waves and doing actions cost life)! The title screen music is awesome as is the in-game music. Are their only sound effects for certain spells? I don't recall hearing one for the first one. Love all the dying sounds though. Haha.

I didn't realize that I used the 3rd spell to regain my life until after I had died once already. I didn't use many other spells aside from the 1st and 3rd ones. The 2nd one cost too much, and I had no idea what the 4th one did. I clicked the right mouse button, raising the dead, but do they fight for me? I wasn't sure. All in all, I had fun with it!!

I loved the art style and the overall game mechanics, but I struggled with how to gain the health back. I liked the story and tutorial, well done there. Overall good job!

I totally didn't get it, but I had fun working it out, and having a game fun enough to people to play until they get isn't bad ;)
I do think that a more detailed explanation of what each spell did, how to collect souls/life and the point of rezing is would help us really enjoy what you've got here :)

Overall i see a decent potential of the game, however the main problems right now is that it's too unbalanced to properly enjoy it. If i get anywhere close to a corner when there are a lot of archers, i will get pushed out of the map and will get stuck there. I understand the mechanic of getting souls, but it really feels too hard sometimes to get your blood back while there are knights and archers literally next to you, so then what happenes is that you can't even fight back.

Otherwise the game is pretty fun, but as i said, the balancing is what makes it less fun D:
Good job though!

Nice idea ! the game is fun but lack of balance on my opinion. Anyway, gj guys

Good game! I especially like the graphics and audio. As other people said, the game is quite unbalanced and needs more feedback on spells and when you're hit or you hit an enemy. Otherwise, you guys did a good job, and I get that balancing a jam game is really difficult and there's little time to do it.

A challenging game!
The part UI and tutorial could be better explicit but once the controls taken in hand one begins to understand how to play. After that we have a good time!
I enjoyed the multi skill aspect, it allows you to develop game strategies that are varied

@edevjogos Thanks.. Feedback like how do you mean?

@lyrcaxis The feedbacks are there just some minor details that i think would make the experience better, like the skills all come from the characters feet, it's not really a problem, but for me feels weird, maybe if he had staff.

When you take damage there's the sound, but no animation or visual confirmation, the character stay still like nothing happened.

If when you change the selected skill each one made a different sound, it would be possible after some runs to know wich one is selected even without looking at the HUD.

The same goes for the health it could pop up as a transparent life bar when you take damage, or only at some levels of damage, often during my plays i found myself already at the limit when the screen gets red.

At first I didn't see my health getting lower so I was surprised I died :D Great sounds and really cool graphics!

I played the WebGL version and had a lot of trouble with the mouse. Sometimes it disappeared (in fact it started invisible at the main menu), without full-screening it was virtually unplayable, in fullscreen it was better but I still eventually lost the mouse pointer and couldn't use aim the spike spell against missile weapons and died. Game is fun, though, I really enjoyed it while it was working properly. Good spell set, not too big. Kinda felt the bodies disappeared too quickly.

I really enjoyed this. Switching reliably between the spells was a bit difficult, so rebinding the keys might be nice. Great work!

Great Graphics and overall mechanics, well executed and polyshed!

Youcould improve the ambience sound to give more space and add to the experience anhanced senation of the place which the protagonist is protecting, some reverberation to add space and also some idle sfx to the enemies.
