Sacrifice Yourself by Weiiswurst

[raw]
made by Weiiswurst for LD 43 (JAM)

Sacrifier is a game where you have to sacrifie yourself!

Monsters will spawn and start to attack you! Fight back with the left mouse button (LMB) and move with W,A,S and D!

Killing a monster will give you that amount of health and xp that the monster had atk.

XP needed to level up: 100xCurrent Level

Every Level Up will give you +10atk and +20hp, but you can get extra hp by sacrifying yourself! Press E to remove 10atk and get 40hp for it! Totally worth it ;)

The more you kill, the faster they spawn and stronger they are! Survive as long as you can! The browser Version might lag in higher levels. I'd recommend downloading the game instead.

WARNING: Elipsy warning in the browser version! (@morris-beardbarian) :D

Hello! Not bad game for start! But i think that you need to improve your skills in graphic and gameplay especially.

Interesting concept. I'd add some kind of mini map in order to know where you're located and some kind of feedback on the attack, so you can see you're damaging your enemies, and on the sacrifice, so you know it worked. Managed to survive up to level 3, but monsters end up getting me if I get close to attack. I see the game is beta, keep up the work!

It was an interesting concept, some good points, some bad points.

Here are some points to look :
- No feedback when hiting the enemy
- No life bar
- I guess we are moving a bit fast

Fun concept, especial the ide of sacrificing attack for hp, but I had trouble with the movement and the background was irritating my eyes. More feedback when you attack and get hit would be good and maybe the ability to move backwards so you can hit the enemies while dodging their attacks.

I like the idea of sacrificing you attack power to heal yourself. I wasn't sure when my attack was working so perhaps a little more feedback there. Congrats

- background tiles should be more distinct not just a grid so you have a reference that tells you you are moving
- animation is crucial in this kind of game. doesnt need to be top notch just a simple movement will do
- player and enemy feedback is also essential.
- apart from ui i cant tell if im actually sacrificing my attack to hp, maybe some particle effects or a simple animation in the player will give you a telegraph that something is happening.

all in all good concept, just needs to work more on execution. sorry for the harsh comment :D

I think other people like @marrack and @sabeurre have already stated the main problems with the game so I can't really add much but what they are saying is definitely true

Nice work on creating a game! :)

I did not beat it, but maybe it's endless? :D

I enjoyed combining the small enemies and move backwards while killing them.

I played it for 20 minutes and my record was Level 2 - 142 exp. Is that good? :D

Please add "Epilepsy warning" for the HTML5 version  The math notebook lines really made my eyes go crazy.
