  • If the loading seems to freeze before the end, it's because it's downloading musics, which may take some time.

Description

Chains & Ores is a little narrative/plateformer game where you play as a slave who want to be free. You will have to cooperate with your comrades in order to get enough money to buy your freedom and get your life back

A little word

I'm quite proud of this entry, I gave my best during this whole weekend and I like the result. I have to cut a lot from my original idea, but I think that it's look like a real and complete game anyway.

I hope that you will like it, and have fun playing it ! 😉

Loved the graphics and the cutscenes, the music is nice too and i particularly liked the little "jump" sound the slaves make. Good job, well done.

really nice compo entry - I lost all my dudes on day 3 at the section where you have to quickly alternate between the guy and his dudes to get through the doors while a rat runs along the bottom path, as my mind struggled to map use+left/right to up+down, but thats just because I suck, lol.

A few weird little physics glitches (like sometimes my dudes would fall through the bottom of a lift as I was raising it), and there was an invisible blockage on a central platform in day 1 and 2) but those are easily forgivable in a compo entry that has quite a lot of depth to it

The controls are a bit confusing especially since the instructions were for the french keyboard. Nicely done.

That's cool !! maybe I will prefer to bind space to use objets (e + q or d (in azerty) is really uncomfortable for use the elevators)

Very impressed with this! It kind of reminds me of Norse by Norsewest but with slaves instead of vikings :P Great concept that was well executed. Excellent take on the theme and a great amount of content for 2 days (clearly I need to up my level of productivity). I found a bug in the third level where I got stuck down an elevator shaft and couldn't exit with the main player. Attaching a screenshot. Excellent job on this!

Looked pretty nice, was happily surprised by the azerty keyboard layout.
Pretty extensive game for being made in 3 days.
Some slight clipping issues I found in the game made progress slightly harder, I once got stuck on the lever at the tutorial.
Great stuff overall.

I liked the concept of the game, definitely should use a controller. The WASD layout was slightly difficult to handle, but nothing bad. I always tried pulling the lever using up and down rather than left and right, but maybe some players just think differently? Great game overall!

The game is overall quite fun, with an interesting concept. It's really impressive that you managed to do that in just a week-end! Are you planning to release it as a full game? I think there's potential :-)

I have a few comments:

- In my first playthrough, I jumped with the slaves down the pit on the right of the start of the first mine, and everyone died. There's no way to know that there are spikes down that pit. This is especially frustrating because you can't just "restart" the level (you can, but you lose time and resources).
- At some point in the first mine, I got the slaves up a lift and realized too late that I had sent them back to the start of the level, which made me lose something like a minute or two. This is quite frustrating.
- It took me a long time to manage to get the slaves through this opening, because if you are too close to the wall when you jump it doesn't let you through, and if the lift is too high you can't pass:

- (just being picky now) pressing E and D at the same time is a bit cumbersome :P!
