Artvertising: The Battle of the Dollar Stores! by Mocadium

[raw]
made by Mocadium for LD 44 (JAM)

You are a street advertiser, with absolutely no drawing skill, and even less dignity! Walk around in your stupid outfit showing your advert to people on the street to win! But there is another dollar store in town, make sure they dont get more customers than you!

This is my first finished Ludum Dare! Thank you for playing, really means a lot! Capture.PNGCapture2.PNG

Great *art*! (un-ironically)

But really, I had fun playing. The movement is very responsive and the rounds are just the right length.

Great game! I played like 10 times but wasn't even close to victory. AI is too good!

I can also guarantee it's beatable. That big coin never stood a chance...

I really liked the art! The background especially; I wish there were more arenas!

Hey great game! I really liked the art and it was quite funny when I all of sudden got run over by a metro. Perhaps you can explain a bit better how to play the game (controls and how to advertise). There was also no target score to work towards, so perhaps add that if/when you add the other levels.

Awesome game! The soundtrack is incredible and art is very nice! Gameplay is smooth, the only thing I would add, is some sort of train sound, few seconds before it's be coming.

Very nice entry, the music had me jamming from the beginning. Simple, controls, great artstyle and as I said, the MUSIC! Now I can move on with my day having a better mood :) Only thing was that I didn't see any indication that the train was coming, maybe add some sound effect or flashing lights? I am looking forward to with what you'll come up with next LD :)

Lovely little game!!! I Loved the art and the music, and it is a fun game, congrats! making a fun game is not that easy.

Maybe you could add some more visual and sound effects, search for some videos on game feel, some screen shake for example.

Nice entry, keep creating man!

I really liked being able to draw my own sign. I liked the idea, nice and simple. My only suggestions would be:
- I wish the train had a noise or a timer so you could know when to anticipate it
- I wish there was some way to affect the other mascot, perhaps some wait to bait them into the train ?

It's a very good game! The atmosphere is excellent, the rhythm is immediately in place and pixel art is in tune with the music. As for the axes of improvement I think it would be better to have more random train, after a while we understand the patterns ^^

Fun idea and good execution! I would have appreciated a warning signal (either a sound or exclamation mark) to provide a warning for when the train comes. The music got a bit repetitive after a while, though had a lot of retro charm to it. Overall, a fun little arcade game. Good job! Do you like my advert? :D
