Defeat the salty horde that is going for your lands, slime! Fight alone or with up to two friends for the freedom of your slimy sort. In order to reach this honorable goal you need to sacrifice parts of yourself to build towers that are capable of shooting those monsters. But beware that they won't have problems to bring you down if you give away too much.

Interesting game play... however the game sort of level locks if you place towers to fast (which is not clear at the start of the game)

It was interesting idea, took a few turns to learn how to play not clear instructions kind of slow, towers cold use 1 more shot probs, music got annoying

Congratulations. Nice application of the theme. Points for humor too. A dynamic tower defense. =]

Fun game, very original. It's really challenging to run around avoiding the monsters so that you can bunch them up and get multiple kills with each shot, well done!

Fun game, I really like the idea of the slug, but I tent to stay stuck between the salt monsters.

Neat concept! I included it in my compilation video series of games from the Ludum Dare, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/Y2UiyhFvqPg

Great game with unique mechanic, I wish the towers started shooting once placed.

This is an original idea, that could be expanded into a complex game!

Thank you for you game. Interesting idea. From the beginning it was not quite clear what to do. But when you understand, it's fun to play. The Music & Sound Effects is awesome :-)

Nice idea and good implementation of the theme, it's really very hard for me to get beyond the third level, too much salt :D

The idea is quite original however there seems to be an optimal strategy of putting towers around you and not moving except when in direct danger. It would have been nice if you were able to do something apart from placing tower so you would have to balance between putting towers or doing something else. Good job anyway ! :)

Interesting game. The more you place towers, the more enemies you can get, but also the more health you lose. Trying to balance your health/tower ratio while avoiding enemies is a bit tough, but nothing impossible with a little training. Good job for a Game jam :)

It's a cool concept and I think it has potential but there needs to be more strategy involved.

The fact that you have to run away from the ennemy while making towers to kill then is really nice what could be cool is more tower pretty hard game also good job !

Interesting idea, but it is really frustrating how fast the towers disappear. And I don't really understand why the salt wants to hurt me, but whatever :)

Interesting take on a tower defense game. I particularly enjoyed the art style. I felt that the gameplay could have benefited from the towers lasting longer, though.

Interesting use of the theme, Feels like it would definitely be easier with more people

I thought this was pretty fun. I would have liked to know what my health status was, and how many other towers I could build, so that I could decide between running around or building towers. It was sometimes frustrating that the towers seemed to miss when shooting. The level in the dark was quite hard, and an interesting gameplay addition! Other than that I liked the happy art style :-)

First, thank you all for your feedback! It helps us to recognize some of the main issues of our game. We'll plan to release an update for some issues once the rating period ends.

@jammin
I'm looking into possible solutions for that problem. This happened to me as well but at some point I got used to it.

@jupiter-hadley
Thank you as always for your time and efforts. :)

@hugonun
I remember coding the logic for that but it's probably stuck in one of those post-ldjam branches. If your curious follow my itch profile.

@kerdelos
That strategy shouldn't get you to the credits screen but thanks for the heads up on the missing second gameplay element. May we can add something at a later point, but we'll absolutely keep that in mind for the next ldjam.

@samh
Thanks for this detailed feedback. I hope we can improve at least on some of the given aspects.

Loved the idea of using your own body to defend yourself, getting smaller and weaker as you get worn down! My poor slime never survived the harsh wintery level, but I enjoyed the game very much anyway. It was frustrating when I got to the stage where I couldn't do anything more than trying to run away knowing I was doomed... But that's just the way things are sometimes!

So it seems I can place nine towers which means I need a tower to kill 6 salt guys. I was having trouble determining how many shots the towers had. If they had six that means either you would some shots to hit multiple people or never miss. This also takes into account the salt never touches you when you are moving, since that takes away a tower you can place. I enjoyed the concept and had fun playing but felt trying to get all the salts in one place to optimize the towers was a little to tough.

It can be difficult and challenging. The core mechanic is to be conservative on placing the towers then avoid the salts, which is something.
