Fun game xD But the wheel is quite weird, it does not return to its natural position ? ^^' The music is cool, the art wors well, and the concept is cool (even if I already saw that somewhere ^^').

The art is great, but the control scheme was a bit messy to deal with. I assume that's close to the actual experience of texting while driving though... I had fun, the game wasn't too short or too long. I did however manage to get stuck in the railings on Level 3 in a couple places. Took me several seconds to get my car out of there.

Amazing! A bit too hard. The progression is a bit steep since I can't quite finish even the first level. Try to give more time for the first messages you answer and another good idea is to keep the phone partially showing.

It was a really fun experience! I ended up driving with the phone constantly up haha! Great work

The graphics are excellent. I love the idea too, but its way too hard. I wish the phone didn't cover the entire field of view and that the texts came a little less frequently as I really wanted to get in the zone of driving the car. It handled well.

This is one of my favorites so far. Love the idea, and the graphics are great. Picking responses while driving was a little hectic so I'd usually just mash a random one. Great job!

First i love the graphics.. But a quite hard to play more than 15s .. XD
I found a little glitch on the wall and i got stuck.
Two answers may be better and some extra time at start(something like 60s?)

We definitely learned the lesson of getting other people to playtest this jam. While we can finish with 10-15 seconds left on the clock (because of course we know the layout and right answers), the game is may be a bit too difficult for others!

Well, we all knew you shouldn't text and drive: and now we can all experience why x)

Funny idea. I believe a longer time to answer would have been better, as you only have a couple of seconds to look at the phone, read the text, and pick your line. But overall, funny entry you have here ^^

Haha so good! I ended up having my phone up all the time so that I could answer as soon as possible xD Actaully managed to beat the last level on my first try, mostly because I remembered all the right answers. Sometimes my car glitched out of the track and I couldn't make it back indside which made me mad but I just restarted the track and tried again. Really funny and nice game though! 10/10 would play again (added you to my "Top picks from ludum dare 41" list on my profile)

The dinosaur stuff is pretty abstract but it does fit the LD theme pretty well. The mechanics are solid and polished, the game looks awesome and handles smoothly. It is far too easy to win just by keeping the phone open at all times though; you can steer well enough from what's on either side of the screen. I feel like there'd be a lot more urgency if either you had to look down to text (limiting the view of the road some more), or if you were punished for taking your time/crashing. I was able to get through the first level by gathering up time at the start of the level (until I had like 45 seconds) then just driving to the goal without looking at my phone.

This isn't a major issue, and the game's much more fun if you text and drive like you are in a hurry, but the broken strategy does exist, and I don't know if you intended this. And at the end of the day it's probably better a game like this is too easy than too hard.

A couple aesthetic bugs I ran into:
- the voice clip peaks a lot, especially on the "smoooth" recording. And since it plays frequently that does get a bit irritating.
- the exit button is stretched on the game over screen; the font isn't properly rendered.
- on one playthrough (don't know what caused this, but this was the 45 second one) the space bar seemed to either select a random option on the phone (the phone wasn't up) or just play a random voice clip.

All in all I really enjoyed the game. Thanks for making it, and keep it up.

@amras0000 The peaking is totally my bad. Thought I had fixed that.
We discovered the easy strat in the last few hours while adjusting the time and trying to make the game easier. The original idea was to have the text message pop up at certain checkpoints on the map, but that wasn't the direction we went.

Very hard, even harder for my as I have an azerty keyboard and couldn't switch to qwerty for some obscure reasons :/

Anyway, the texts made me laugh hard and I actually love the car gameplay, the speed sensation is really there !

I loved it. Couldn't beat the last level so I decided to come write a review. While scrolling through the comments I noticed people talking about keeping your phone in front of you, but since I'm using an azerty keyboard that was a little bit hard :smile: Maybe add a keyboard layout switcher? Game felt polished, loved the overall feel and I'd love to see you creating some more levels!

Love the art style and the mixture of genres :) Interesting take on the racing/dating sim. The music gets a little irritating quickly and some different/more text messages would be a welcome addition. Very creative idea and well executed! I liked how challenging it was to text and drive, good reminder for real life.

Ok seriously though, the graphics in this are awesome, I love all the sounds as well. It would have been a smooth addition to have a restart or retry button at the end of the level so you wouldn't have to necessarily level select each time. I love the amazing horror of texting and driving things to dinosaur dates. Really awesome submission :D

Defninitely learned not to text and drive!

This is exactly how I drive my kids to school!! I have tons of messages and stuff to do and manage to do it all while driving, so this was easy for me. Yeah I'm kidding of course. This is actually a good point of not driving while texting. The game is also very fun and polished. Love the graphics!

Cool little game even tho it is very hard. I don't think I ever read the texts. I just picked a text to send back as fast as I could. All in all great mash up of the two themes.

Wow great, pretty hard but not impossible. Gave 5 on all.

Really like the graphics, but damn is this hard. I could barely last 30 seconds.
