It's time for another masterpiece from nizlow productions!! Let me present you, City&Racing!!!

Ok let's get real, this game ain't gonna go anywhere besides near the trash can. I found it difficult to really find a "good" shitty combination of genre but saddled early on some kind of racing game. After throwing around with ideas I wanted to try to combine it with a city-simulator. And that's what I did.

You drive races in order to gain money which you can then use to build your town. Building your town will give you even more money. What to do with all the money? Upgrade your car! Make it faster or better to handle, you can decide. There are different challenges throughout the map from easy to hard. For the harder ones you will need to upgrade your car (or maybe not??)

Controls: WASD - control the car
SPACE - handbraking (gets better when upgraded)
ESC - Information menu

There are also some buttons to mute the audio which was completely made by an AAA studio. With that I mean it was made by me and don't expect anything other than greatness (no seriously, mute it if you don't like it). Besides Audio, everything else was also handcrafted by me.

It's also my first time I made a real game in Gamemaker Studio 2. It was a great learning experience and I know now much better on what to look out for. I hope I can use the engine again next time and create something even greater.

Here are more screenshots and a GIF if you want to see it in Action. https://imgur.com/a/lJHvRol

Have fun playing! :)

The racing bit is fun, and I had a good time upgrading my car and doing the little time trials, but the city building bit is confusing - I wasn't sure really what I was doing or what effect it had. Nice take on the theme though

Nice combination of genres. The sounds effects are pretty fun and the map is large with quite a few challenges. The hard races are really hard, especially in the beginning. Nice work!

Interesting concept. It was a bit unclear what everything did, but the racing was fun. The game tended to spaz out a bit when I hit the grass, which was pretty annoying. Some more music would be good to set the mood.

The collision had a little stuttering, but I love the combination of games! Good to see another racing game

I wish this game was a bit more tuned for fun. As it is I found myself frustrated a bit by the slow progression. A minimap would help with the races.
I don't think this game has to go to the trash can, though. It's a good idea, it's interesting and if the driving were just a bit more fun (damn those collisions that make you lose races!) it would be quite a great entry!

I ended up leaving it running for a year (in-game time) and then had accumulated enough money to buy some upgrades which made it more tolerable (-:
