This was a really fun game. I honestly could have played it all night  It was a really engaging game and the leader board was a nice touch. I made #1 with 4085 points I believe. I'll be checking back to see if someone beat it.

Nice game, very easy to understand. The leader board was a nice touch. Maybe some ambient noise music would have been nice, I myself failed on that part.

I really liked the Leaderboard. Can you tell me how you made it? Amazing game BTW. Some music will surely make it better.

Hi @lomna , thanks for playing the game. Three's a great guide that I followed for adding a leaderboard to a game using PHP and SQL for Unity games. Here is a link:

Pretty nice and fun game, though it could use some music for sure. I feel that the post-compo version is more balanced and had more cards than the compo version, and is consequently more fun to play, but I understand it's a very ambitious undertaking to create a card game in 48 hours, so congrats on finishing that! The leaderboard is a nice touch. A nice game overall.

@toasteater Aye thanks toasteater. Yeah I had more ideas for cards than I had time to implement so I added them post-compo. Thanks for the kind words and thanks for taking the time to play both versions that is super awesome of you :)

Wow, this is a ton of fun. This is the game I played the longest until now (I think, I even played it longer than mine, lol!) Very well done!

The cards are really balanced. Card animations are well made. The monsters could be bit more detailed, but that's just a detail.

And good job implementing a highscore. It keeps you coming back for more ๐Ÿ‘

Great game, I loved to play it and when I discovered the highscores I went on and on! I like the cards and the effects. Would have loved at some point to sell some of my worse cards (Maybe there is such a moment, I don't think I was that great at the game xD)

Great job!

WOW, what an amazing surprise. I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical, when I decided to try out this game, because I wasn't too impressed with the screenshot. But it was so much fun. First I thought I would play one or two rounds and then move on to the next game. But after every round I wanted to play another round to increase my highscore. After at least 15 rounds I still didn't manage to get more than 800 points (:D) but I had a lot of fun trying to. I was also really impressed by the your writing, which fits the mood perfectly. Some background music would have been cool obviously but it didn't take away any of the fun. At the moment of writing this I haven't played the post compo version yet, to not influence my ratings but afterwards I definetely will.
I am really impressed by how much you could include in the game (like the leaderboard and so on) in 48h while working alone. I worked together with a friend and we had 72h and still it got really really stressfull towards the end.
We would happy, if you tried out our game and told us what you think about it :)

@zubspace Thanks for playing! Glad you are having fun with the game :)

@symphonia I'm glad you like the cards and the effects! I love the suggestion to sell some of the worst cards. There's not currently a moment to do that (time constraints of a game jam) but it would be great to add.

@cambryx Thanks for letting me know you had fun! Don't fret too much if your scores weren't good. The scores in the post-compo version are all higher than the original submission scores. One of the things I did post-compo is make all the score numbers bigger. They seem cooler that way! But it had the side effect of making the original submission scores small by comparison. Hope you have fun with the post-compo version - I'll check out your game now!

I couldn't get past level 4 (or 5? with the 4 dudes) in 4 tries and it seems like there is a lot of luck involved (if you don't get the "block" card until level 3, you have to restart the game basically) but it was fun nonetheless.

Always love a good card game, but that leaderboard is a bit devious, since it made me instantly try again when I saw it...

Yep, definitely leaderboard made me try again and again and is overall great feature, at the end being happy with result of 70k, which as I see can be still much improved. This is really good well balanced game, nicely fitting the theme, cards are smart and always coming some new giving a lot of options and space for strategy. I also feel all the technical work done under the hood and I am impressed.

Giving some highest ratings so far this LD round to your game. Just not for the art. But I have understanding for this *compo* kind of it, maybe I would not be charmed by your entry so much if it would be looking *some other way, maybe professional, but ordinary*

Awesome game! Original version is a bit unbalanced, but the post-ld is very good. Graphics could be improved, but isn't matter because it is very funny. Good job!

I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of variation in the cards! It definitely feels like some cards are better than others, but then again that's the case in most deckbuilders haha. I feel like the game could use some music, or maybe some ambient forest sound (birds, tree leaves rustling, etc), but I think it was neat regardless.
Good job!

Nice variety of cards, it would be nice some background music, attack animations and sound, but overall it's quite good and fun.

Great little game! Some music would have been nice, but was still good either way.
Very addictive, keep it up!

At last! A card game! I cherish everytime I find one because I find them so rare and I'm always curious to see how it is implemented. Good job on it, I love the neat little sound details there is when it comes to card manipulation. The sounds makes the experience much more satisfying. That being said, I would recommend lowering it just a little. Maybe it's my computer, but the sounds were fairly loud. Regardless, I love this submission, excellent job! :)

The purple guy is rough... Nicely done, runs pretty smoothly, and appreciated the leaderboard. The art definitely could've been higher quality, and that would've added to the immersiveness of the game. Very direct application of theme.

@aggrathon Glad you liked the leaderboard! As the game was coming together I definitely felt like since there were very different degrees of success due to the roguelike nature of the game a leaderboard would fit well.

@onnofal Thanks for saying such nice things about the game and thanks for the scores!

@furtive-pygmy totally agree music would help. Ran out of time during the compo and it's not my strong suit so I never got around to adding more later. Great suggestion.

@sodaro @edevjogos I'm glad you liked the variety of cards! I'd love to put more polish into this game with better music and art and sound over time.

@tiberiusuciu Thanks for appreciating the card game implementation! Those sounds were fun to make. Sorry they were too loud! I guess I also could have put a volume slider into the game.

@heyycap Dude - you made it to the purple guys? Props - respect is due! The purple guys I actually added as a sort of "Okay we need to make sure the game ends at some point so now the game will start spawning purple guys who are impossible to deal with" as sort of a soft-limit/enrage.
