Chickenarchy by Game-mon
In a kingdom whose currency is the chicken, you must lead a brave chicken in his journey to take over humans.

Known issues:
- Camera movement, besides being inconvenient, can be used to push chickens anywhere on the screen.
- Dialogs can be triggered without meaning to, especially with a lot of chickens.
(A simple point-and-click system would probably solve these two problems).

One glitch I found: You can just drag the camera around and chicken at the border of the screen will just be forcepushed into your direction. Makes navigating around pretty much pointless.
Re: Size issues - I just zoomed my browser window. Worked for me.
Loved it, but the farmer killed all my chickens! (I had exactly 14) Didn't even get a game over or anything, game just stayed there.
Edit: The glitch doesn't happen to me, so I just don't know how to fix it. I guess jam games are meant to be a bit buggy (:
What a lovely day! What a lovely kingdom! Looks like..... <48 chickens just ramble over the poor farmer while searching for more eggs...>
I had a lot of fun finding the eggs. Feels like Easter Egg hunt. I frequently got stuck in dialogs and could not finish a single request. First I feared that I would lose my chicken when they get stuck somewhere but I found I could just draw the screen and handle it that way.

Reason of that is the camera drag movement. Anyway, brilliant work!
Controlling the chicken via moving the camera is an interesting choice. Sadly, I could just force chicken to go wherever I want and the game pretty much turned into an Adventure without fun in moving. Is that intended?
Okay, I'm aware there are some important issues about the game. I first added colliders around the camera to prevent chickens from going offscreen, but didn't realize it raised another problem (that @borys used to go outside the map). There is definitely a problem with the whole movement in the game, but I'm not going to update it because it would be a new feature and is against the rules of Ludum Dare. Also I thought that beginning dialog when entering a trigger would make things much easier, but once again, didn't realize it would be a pain to play. (A simple point-and-click system would probably solve these two problems. If I ever want to expand the project, I think it could be a mobile version with this system.)
So yeah, sorry for these glitches - but please keep in mind I'm still a beginner: it's just my 2nd Ludum Dare, and I struggled to manage my time, the project was a bit too ambitious perhaps.
Hope you still enjoy the overall atmosphere, and thanks for this helpful feedbak <3
some anoying chicken sounds would be funny to had ingame x)
Overall a funny puzzle game, good job!
Edit: And for the artstyle, chicken was a bit inspired by Crossy Road
sometimes with too much chicken the dialog is repeating a bit too much :)
The follow the mouse pointer movement is interesting but I would've preferred a click to move type. Having the drag the view around was just tedious.
If you work on this after judging, I'd recommend replacing the controls. In the meantime, I suggest you center the game view on the page, having it all the way to the left was a little wierd.
@krammetje @fidrik @chrisdugne @zlabya @jin9310 Sorry for the problem with dialogs... :( (see "known issues")
@nico-fallosch @purrseus @palsina @grllle @fatcrow Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed the game! (:
@ave @jjjjason @gimblll This is super kind, thanks a lot! :D
@shaolin-dave Actually, I don't know how to center the game on the page - I just gave itch.io a 256*256 game, an it was put on the left. Besides, I definitely agree with the problem you mentionned (see "known issues"). Quoting myself a few comments above:

After I started the game, I was confused 'cause I didn't know what to do.. so I ran around and collected those eggs. Well, after a little time i understood the concept of this game.
A tutorial would have been helpful.
Also there is no possibility I saw, to play the game on fullscreen, so it was queit annoying to play it in a small window.
I like the idea that the chickens follow your mousecontroll and that you have to scroll trouhgh the map...
But it is not well thought through because you can easily scroll all your chickens out of map. In this case you can take them over the water or trough the forest and i do not think thats a part of the game.
Some positive things:
I like the graphics and the whole artdesign of the charakters.
The idea is really good and funny and I would like to see more from it.
