[raw]
made by Zlabya for LD 44 (JAM)

Hello,

this is our third participation in LD Jams. Our game is a 2d topdown and 2d platformer game where you have to collect gold to escape (Somehow exchange gold as currency for your life, which is not really your life is currency).

unfortunately we didn't finish the whole idea that we started with.

use WASD to move.

The arts, sound effects and music were downloaded from https://opengameart.org.

Have fun. Please leave feedback in the comments, it's important to learn :)

It's a short but cute game, the movement is smooth and maybe just a bit heavy. The dialogs confused me a little cause they were kinda short and not very explicative XD but I had fun

Platforming controls were a bit too floaty but otherwise the game was well put together. I would suggest adding an option for the game to be played in widescreen.

The graphics and music worked well together and was pretty cute
Maybe a diolog system where you press a button to continue would feel more natural than waiting.
The experience was short but enjoyable, which is what we want from a game jam game ! :)
Keep it up !

i liked the idea of the task system. doing things for people in exchange for money was something i haven't seen much of in ld44 submissions!

Fun game, but when you don't make the art and audio yourself you should opt out of being judged on it.

@thatsommes that's right, but too late for it, sorry about it.

Nice concept! Simple but effective. Aside from the other criticism already said, I think the art (even though you downloaded from an external source) should be more consistent, especially during the platforming sequence I can see that the sprites don't match on style. Also I feel lack of a fail state, there is no consequence on dying when falling in a pit. Anyway great work!

Cute, simple, achievable, and complete. Not bad, all around. I felt it needed something more, though; as is, it's kind of TOO simple, without seeming to try anything new, unusual, improved upon, or particularly interesting.
