Glitterwing VS Apocalipsaur by DDSFloko

[raw]
made by DDSFloko for LD 39 (JAM)

Piloting a Mecha is a difficult task that requires a very skilled team. An often overlooked function is the brave soul responsible for keeping every part of the Mecha properly energized, and today, that person is you! Help your team of pilots to defeat the evil horde of apocalipsaurs.

OBJECTIVE : - Pay atention to the requests that show up on top of the screen - Charge each part of the Mecha accordingly - Press the respective button to release the charge and unleash your Mecha's powers.

CONTROLS : Just drag a plug and drop it on an outlet to charge it. Once the charge reaches 100%, click on the Icon to release the charge.

OBS : If you can, give preference to the version for android that is more interesting to play. And if you play the web version, try to put in full screen, Because it seems the window in gamejolt site, sometimes, has bugs on the clicks of the mouse.

Very nice idea! super innovative. Love the graphics and sound. I tried the PC version and it was a bit hard to control, perhaps the android version is better. It was a little frustrating not being able con connect the plugs. Other than that a great entry.

Liked the design of the monsters, the chiptune music was on point.

The only thing about this game that wasn't spot on, was the plugs getting stuck. While it does add to the challenge, especially as you have to pay attention to where the fourth plug is resting, I feel like the physics were just a little bit too unpredictable, which led to a few moments of frustration. I did however restart the game several times until I completed it, so in hindsight perhaps it was a smart addition after-all!

Really cool concept! Graphics & music are great too. I found it a little a bit confusing at first - it wasn't immediately clear what the icons at the top meant, so I wonder if some tweaks to the animation might make it more obvious (maybe a clock running out instead of a fill?). In the web version, the HP indicators were the wrong icon so that threw me off a bit too. The physics of putting in the plugs was funny but also a bit frustrating :P It seemed like I was immediately fighting a new monster (or just the same with refilled health?) after winning which felt a little weird, so some sort of break or short victory screen would help the pace of the game I think. Still it was pretty fun, this could be really awesome with some tweaks. Great work!

Very nice graphics and interesting concept, and though I thought I figured out the basics I didn't manage to win the second fight. Characters are adorable.

I would absolutely love to see a full version of this game. That was a lot of fun! Played on PC, so I think I missed out a bit on the touch controls, but I can imagine playing a lot of this on mobile.

Very cool game! The graphics were awesome and the music too. Also, the game's name is just great xD. I played the web version and sometimes it was very frustrating to plug those things, even sometimes they would be plugged but not charging. Good job overall!

Fun game, with an interesting concept.

It took me a few tries to see the connection between the request icons and the parts to charge (first I thought the top icons were the opponents next moves, which I would have to counter with moves of my own). But once it clicked for me, the game was pretty fun to play. Sometimes, the physics of the plugs were a bit frustrating, but I guees that was in order to make the act of changing plugs a bit more complicated.

The graphics and audio were very good!

>Charging all the plugs,
>Kill the Apocalipsaurs!
>Then, well-deserved rest!

Nice job there! The graphics look really nice and the game mechanic, based on plugging the right plug into an outlet, then activating it was really fun and kinda confusing (in a good way). The sound also complements it pretty well! :D

Having more monsters, more plugs/different positions for outlets and more stuff would make this even more nice! Controls are already pretty accessible, so with more content, it would totally rock! ;)

Great job there! :D

Nice! It felt polished. It was sometimes difficult to put the plug and it was somewhat repetitive, but the concept has potential. Nice sounds and graphics, too.

It's a shame I don't have an android phone and can't get the full experience. The opening splash screen is excellent, and the tune is certainly fitting. I'm convinced I've heard it somewhere before, but I can't think of where. Who knew that a mighty super robot could be laid low by outlet physics? Juggling the outlets was a unique challenge, and I often found myself neglecting charged meters as I fiddled with the things around. At times it felt that the pluts simply would not go in, and on a few occasions I had to jiggle the plugs that looked like they were in so they'd actually start charging. I'm just glad I didn't have to deal with five of the things. I did eventually hit the win screen, but it took me several attempts. Well done!

Loved the art! It took a bit for me to understand that the icons where buttons, but once I did it I was able to take down a few monsters :D

Your game idea was very good! It's nice to see some Android game here! Sometimes, the plugs goes a little strange way. The graphics are very good and the music is even better!

This game was potential to be a very interesting arcade game (get the better high score with a gameplay that will became a little faster after each monster), but you finish the game after two monsters. I easily beat the game after I fully understand the mechanics. Clearly, is the biggest flaw of this game.

I also wish moves/buttons/icons that makes more sense in the context. During a brief time, I guessed that the shield blocks enemies moves. The coffee icon seens like out of place. Also, you forget to change the "Nome do Jogo" at Game Over/End screen.
