Towers for Nuclear is a more or less classic Tower Defense Game. Your job is it to defend your Core / Missile Silo, till you have the cash to launch your Nuclear Rocket to smash your foes.

For this purpose you can build different Towers which will help you to defend your base.

Tower

Towers_Low.gif

The first tower is the basic tower. It will grant you some small damage for a low price.

The second one is the piercing tower, which will cost a bit more but will provide a better damage output and on top, it will ignore the armor of your enemies

The last, but not the least tower, is the lightning tower which has the biggest amount of damage output and will also ignore the whole shield of the enemy units.

BUT BEWARE, every tower you build will also power up your enemies. Each tower will add additional units to the next wave of your enemy. Even when you upgrade your tower, which will provide more damage and a better attack speed, will also raise the amount of added enemy units.

Units

Units_Low.gif

The first unit is the standard unit, with a touch of armor and small health. But these guys can be dangerous in a big amount.

The next unit is the Crawler which is the fastet unit of our enemy. It has also just a touch of armor but already a nice shield. And you also should not forget the bigger amount of health of this unit.

The third unit is the dreaded Mech. This collos of machine has a lot health and the shield and armor of this unit is enormous.

But thanks to our sponsors, every killed unit will provide us a bit money to build more tower and improve your existing ones.

Nuclear Missile

Your goal is clear. Defend the silo, save some money and launch the nuclear missile. After you have launched the missile we just have to wait and survive the last enemy units till the rocket will crush our enemy and we win this fight.

When there are too many units reach our base, they will be killed by our men in the base but everyone of them will explode, so that our core silo is damaged. If it has too much damage you will loose this fight.

The more you have, the worse it is

Our war is not easy. As already mentioned will the enemy army grow for every tower you build or improve.

Next to that, the enemy army will improve from wave to wave, so don't be lazy and keep an eye on the enemies.

More important is also, that needed money has also a drawback. The more money you have, the more units will follow our enemies. So that the army of our foe will grow with every coin in our pocket.

graphic were quite impressive for making this in 48-72 hours. The sound was sub par and the spin for the theme idea was well put. Love the game and would play it for hours.

nice game, pretty awesome for 3d graphics, may i know how many hours to make those models if you don't mind hihi, anyway, it's fun, nothing can beat tower defense for fun.

feedback from me is i think it will be good if there's a bar that show the reload of each tower or i can't see it

here's the win game

I am a big fan of tower defense games so I have some suggestions for your game.

1. Leveling up should show you stats increase. It's hard to determine which tower should be levelled up.
2. Wave count should have max waves. At first level it was unclear to me is it 10 waves or they are infinite and I should use the nuclear strike.
3. And, of course, speed up button. Why not?

Good game, though. Small improvements and it will easy become better.

First of all: Thank you for all your feedback so far. Nice to see it :D

@keilazu The models where relativly easy made. The black ones as surrounding are simple Unity-Cube-make. Scale them, rotate them -> done. The enemy and tower models where made with Blender. All the models are made in ... lets say 2 hours or so. Hard to tell, because we are two people and we split the modelling part. But just the modelling I would say 2 hours + 1h of painting. Its a jam, so make it quick :D
And yeah, there're is a lot of improvements. Even 6 hours ago we had so many ideas, tweaks, useability improvements and so on in mind, but we're running out of time - the entry was made at midnight german time and 3am (deadline) would be to late for people with a job :)
Oh, and you have two more levels to go! :D

@interpol Same sentence would fit to your feedback. There is a lot of improvement potential. So sorry that we didnt make your 3 notes in time. :( Even we are a bit frustated about that fact, but still we are happy with Towers for Nuclear. Its the best looking game that we made so far. Not that many bugs in (hopefully none). And it makes fun!

Edit: Point 2 of yours - the goal of the game is in the description here and in the tutorial screen in-game. Dont blame us! :D

Still, thanks for your feedback and your time!

Really fun game to play. Great graphical work for the time limit, and the gameplay felt very natural. Interesting interpretation of the theme, although it didn’t feel like I had a choice about building more towers, so I didn’t notice the escalation of difficulty while playing. Great job!

Enjoyed playing your game and I didn't run into issues.

I liked that even with making some models you included simple particle effects, however it wouldn't have hurt to grab a white smoke brush in photoshop and clicked a couple of times on a transparent background for the smoke particles. A few minutes of extra stuff that feels like a whole lot more when playing.

Also just like my submission, the use of Unity-Style base UI panels/boxes really let the game down expecially on the control screen. You didn't need to show the background so a solid colour instead of transparent and random colour panels would've been much better. But there's not much to be done if you are not a UI artist :)

Unfortunately I can't rate innovation very high because when the theme was announced I'm fairly sure 90% of people thought of a tower defense. Don't get me wrong everyone loves a a good TD, but a big part of jam themes are trying to do something unique with it.

Keep up the good work, good game for the limited time-frame and head count!

You cant go wrong with a TD, and this does a great job at keeping things fresh. The UI is nice and the look and feel is crisp. I enjoyed it!

THIS is a mechanic I've been waiting to see all jam but haven't until now. I love how you have to weigh your upgrade costs vs saving up for a win, and playing the whole balancing act in between that. I love games where that's not an easy decision and you're constantly trying to figure out how to play it optimally. Really fun concept for a TD, made it a lot more interesting than others in the genre.

OK, I really suck at this! But your game is solid, great concept for the theme. Congrats, very well done!
