Goal Defense by Mau
It's a game about Tower defense (attack really) and arkanoid in a football setting. Play with the left/right keys or press the side buttons next to the goal to move the goalkeeper and deflect the balls thrown by the towers. Try to hit the towers with the balls 5 times to destroy them. It's better if you play it on a mobile.
The game stops at 100 goals scored by the towers or if you destroy all the towers, and you only get to protect your goal.
The game is hard, and it's supposed to be like that.
A friend described the game as: "a metaphor for life." (since you cannot win)

I still would have prefered more responsive controls. The game is challenging enough that I feel it doesn't have to have hard controls too.
But good theme and very cohesive result for a marathon game!

Polished game though! :ok_hand:
I'd love it if you could let me know what you think of my game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/dunk-four, it also uses sports as one of the incompatible genres.
@Code Dream The game is intentionally really hard (I was thinking about old atari 2600 mechanics). I had some problems with the start of the game, I tried to put a countdown before the start to give some awareness to the player, but couldn't implement it in the end.
A little bit of sound would also go a long way.
Cool to see a mobile first game in the jam :)
Super cool that it's quick to hop in without a download required, but you wern't kidding though, it's hard!
Here's some of my pro strats, lol: in the beginning i stick to the right and take out some of the closest tanks, once they're gone you have more time to anticipate the shots coming from the back left.
Also though it was funny that the goalkeeper was trying to stop what appears to be tank shells, rofl!
The only thing I didn't like personally is the slippery behaviour of the goalkeeper.
He could take a dive to the side if the button get double pressed.
Keep up the good work!
I really liked that you inteded on purpose to make the game hard and sticked with your vision. That's something that requires a lot of confidence from the designer, so congratulations on that too.
Good job!
I would be very glad if [you rating my game](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/last-stand-1) too:mag:
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.

The controls are WAY too sensitive. I understand it's important to be able to move quickly from one side to the other, but it's too much right now, IMO. Also, the inertia is getting in the way as well.
The graphics look good and I had no bugs happening whatsoever. It was funny to see the score and how many goals had happened and I didn't even notice lol.
I think that the game is cool but with those fixes it will be a really fun game to play on the go on a phone :)
Ah, if you have time, please, take a look at my entry. It's a blend of RTS and Bullet Hell. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/last-stand There's a build for MAC in there :)
