3 annoying difficult Levels; a strange walljump, LSD Mode, extreme Music.. But who said that it is easy to get to Rehab? Have fun on your personal drugrun!

We made a patched postjam version you can download now as a exe with the same itch.io link. Thanks to everyone for their feedback and for checking it out. This is the Patch list:

-changed the controls: now you jump with space, attack and attack with f

-variable jump

-better hitboxes

-you cant fall of the map anymore(hopefully)

-more screenshake when you're on speed

-changed tutorial text

-added a tutorial monkey to explain that the rainbows grow when you stay on a cloud while you're on LSD

-cloud changes color when you're standing on it

-visual effect when you switch from speed to heroin

-fixed enemies in the second lvl

-bigger LSD icon

-an arrow pointing at the rehab in lvl 3

-fixed the options, now you can read that the both joints change the volume of music and sndfx

Things we wish to implement in the future if we have the time to do it: -remappable controls -Game pad possibility -more animations -unclunky controlls -global time highscore

**Pros:** Cool graphics, fun meth gameplay and feel.

**Cons:** Options menu had words blending into the background.

I like your take on 'drug running'. I found it interesting how both of our games have a similar idea, theme and even name but we took entirely different approaches.

I was really liking the look and how the character compressed and bounced as I moved, but the wall jump feels super awkward. In addition, the fact that projectiles just spawn out of the enemies without any animation means you kinda have to play the game in a real awkward manner. Also the hitboxes on bullets seem huge, I wasn't even close and it still blurred out. I didn't make it very far before getting frustrated.

Hey great game! Music was awesome and game play was overall pretty challenging. I have died so many times using speed.

@ilseroth jeah sadly we didnt had time left to work on the hit boxes and we made it really hard to play. Well i could say now this a metaphor because it is really hard to get to rehab(the end of the game) but it isnt :D

It is a very trippy game, in a good way. I really love the art-style and general idea of using different drugs to get some powers.

But, the controls seem to be very clunky. It's not easy to control your character.

And where is the audio?

The whole art direction is sooooo good! It looks really polished!
I like the escalation from a single joint. Great humor!
The hitboxes could use some tweaking. Also the spawning of syringes and bullets without prior animation sometimes produces sudden deaths that feel a little unfair. Oh, and you can run of the map on the last level. Maybe it was just my fault for being on speed and not seeing the LSD the first time.
But all in all a great entry!

Oh this game's weeeeird! Pretty unique. The gameplay is a bit finnicky, especially wall jumping is a bit too hard and feels counter intuitive. The theme is pretty dope though.... I just didn't quite understand the options screen? Two sliders without text. Was this audio settings?

@lance-krasniqi thanks for playing :) the two sliders are for Music Volume and Soundfx Volume. It was the last thing we implimanted and we forgot to put text in.

This game leaves you with strong "wahaaat the hell??" feeling, but it is just so on point! I love the style, and I love this flying... uummm... eye-monkey(?) the most. Music is just right. Honestly, for me the game is little bit too challenging, but I have very poor experience with platformers, so that is not very strange.

Nice job!

Fun game with good music and a unique humorous take on the theme. It was very difficult though since you couldn't really anticipate the bullets so they were difficult to avoid. It was also pretty tedious to accidentally fall back a level or two if you miss your jumps.

Having to switch between uncontrollably fast and unbearably slow speeds, was a surprisingly fun mechanic. I found myself playing the game a lot longer than I expected I would. The changes to the music and visual experience that corresponded with the different modes, was a nice touch. However, the controls didn't feel tight enough for the maneuvers it was asking me to perform later on in the game. I enjoyed it a lot.

The art, music, challenge, theme, idea... everything about this game is superb! Last level was Super Meat Boy challenging (in the best way!). Only real critique would be what others have said about the hit boxes. I honestly hope you make this a full game. It was a pleasure to play!

Bloody awesome soundscape! I'd personally steer away from anything to do with drugs, but I forgive this game due to the meaty sound effects and music which blends in so naturally into the game.

Enjoyed playing this on stream, thanks for letting me play it. Really nice implementation of some of the features and effects. I liked the visuals, though found the controls a little clunky personally (space to attack, up to jump isn't natural to me anymore). I liked the concept of switching between states. Good job

What I liked:
The general idea of gainning powers through drugs and switching between them
The background art was cool
The changing music
Resulting mood

What I didn't like ):
Moving through the level and fighting enemies was a bit annoying :/

I absolutely love the gameplay and the art style in this game. I got stuck trying to figure out how to pass the lsd level though..

This is cool! The grungy collage-y art style is unique, eye-catching, and fits the game really well. I liked the music change when I meth'd up, but I'm afraid I didn't get much farther than that - those syringe bullets are punishing. Great job overall though - I'd play a lot more of this if I weren't dying constantly :)

Well that was a trip. I love the style, the graphics and music are awesome. I liked the punching bits in the first level, but the platforming in the subsequent levels felt a bit clunky - the fast mode was insanely fast and the slow mode was super slow. I realize it's probably intentional but it felt a bit frustrating to play. Walljump was pretty hard to use too. Got to the part with the clouds then couldn't figure out what to do next. Still it was a crazy experience, one of the most unique LD games I've played. Great work!

That was definitively trippy, i really liked the graphics, the weird art direction really sells the concept, the music is also pretty awesome and i like how it changes when you go high.

some checkpoints would have been nice cause the game is a bit hard and starting over can be troublesome on repeated attempts.

other than that it's a neat experience, quite unique, well done guys :)

Really liked the art direction, and the audio was also really nice. No real issues with the controls, I liked how they worked but think maybe the 'speed' movement speed in general could be a touch slower.

The only real thing that bugged me was the hitboxes for the needles and bullets seem to be way bigger than the sprites for the objects, caused some frustrating deaths.

Still really enjoyed it though, I think my favourite game i've played from this jam so far!

The hitboxes for the needles were enormous, couldn't get through parts of the level when i totally thought i dodged the needle. Also, i do recommend allowing wasd for movement in the future too, its kind of odd to use the arrow keys for a game sometimes.

Pretty clunky, but the graphics and effects work well. I died at the rainbow and cloud area and it reset me pretty far down and I had to rage quit, I'm sorry.

Very good game! I wasn't able to beat the final boss, but until that I enjoyed music, graphics, drug effects... everything was really cool.

My little advice is about the camera controller: for platformers, it always feels better when the camera does not jump when the player jumps (unless you want the player to experience some dizzy effect).

Btw I've checked out your itch.io user page and I absolutely loved "Beating assholes in some dungeon" :D I wonder what game engine you're using to create your games.

Just wow! First of all, art and sound design are awesome. And mechanics of all these drugs are very interesting. But I don't understand why I have the opportunity to switch from heroin to speed, because then I become very slow. The game is pretty hard and it's great that there is the checkpoints. I would love to play at other different levels of this game using these unusual trip mechanics :D Cool game!

Cool graphic design! Audio hooks in well! I am a bit of a crappy platformer player, but I could keep up a bit.
The drugs all doing different things works nicely too.

As for most of these games (and LD games I guess) I advocate to not make it one-hit-you're-dead. Keeps players going a bit more.

The visuals on this are fantastic!! The jump felt satisfying, but I had a bit of trouble controlling him a bit. I fell off an edge when I felt like I shouldn't have and sometimes felt like I didn't jump off an edge when I should've. But overall this is a really killer submission with incredible visuals and music. Great work!!
