Patriot by Styxou

[raw]
made by Styxou for LD 41 (JAM)

A pretty thoughtful game about saving The Greatest Country in The World from its most dangerous threat : mexican musicians and some fat luchadors.

Incarnate some random redneck trying to do good for his country, with the help of his chinese slave to build the Greatest Wall Of All Time.

You will have to protect you frontier by managing the ammunitions of the shooter you control, create a wall and launch nuclear bomb on anyone who will try to cross your border and on the other hand shoot any Maxicans who will try to envade America.

Controls :

Left character : WASD + SPACE Right character : mouse

Patriot is a one player game. Based on the player's capacity to deal with two situations at the same time.

Thank you,

Some baguette friends .

Really good idea ! Add more skins if we win points and for enemy when you increase the difficulty and all is fine :) Gl for your further project

You should've just uploaded the zip file to itch and implemented multiple keyboard layouts. Was fun.

Interesting game ^^ Quite fun, and I think you are a french guy if you use zqsd ^^ Moi aussi :D Cool game :) Just a little disappointing that we have to download a software and have to install it to play your game.

Cool overall game, keep coding :)

Whoa, topical ! The concept is a bit trash but it's quite a great game, and kinda hard.
The presentation is very clean, I like the pixel art a lot, and the sound design is neat too.
Overall, great game, congrats !

Great entry & lovely graphics! You could make your game directly playable on itch.io by using the "Embed options" parameters, it could make more participants testing it :video_game: Keep up the good work :rocket:

First off, please do everyone two favors and a) change the keyboard layout for the left dude and b) just upload the zip to itch.io as web-game, so it can be played directly on the site.

Hmm, I think I got the message of the game: The easiest way to "win" is to not build a wall. The mexicans don't do any damage this way and you also don't need to buy bullets or bombs. I guess that makes sense.

Pretty neat and funny idea. In the beggining it was unclear how to reload but it just took a while to figure out. I though the overall was kinda easy, I just used the nuke for fun. The graphics are pretty cool, I liked the style, and perfect take on humour! Good job!

Great entry, loved the idea, and I think it worked pretty well with the theme. I couldn't get all the people, but there didn't seem to be any consequences, so I don't understand the goal

Hm, without a wall can you lose? Either way, I think this was pretty interesting. It was fun to play but I think it could've been improved with some extra explanation in-game. Nice work!
