Hammed Robbery by YouBeStrong

Summary

Porkipig was far from happy when his owner stopped feeding him the occasional coins. To survive, he has no choice to find a better source of currency. Hammed Robbery is stealth game revolving around a piggy bank stealing from an actual bank.

I love how the audio turned out but almost all our audios are from Freesounds so we've opted out of that category, we will update with appropriate credits soon!

Great graphics for a jam game! Funny, good stealthy/greedy gameplay. Congratulations on your entry!

Holy crap this is a better executed version of Furtive Fortune that I made a year or two ago, a stealth game where more money makes you louder. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/furtive-fortune

The digestion feature is fucking genius and I absolutely love the animation. Feels like Toy Story or something. Amazing job here

Thanks everyone! We sorta had a mix of Banjo-Kazooie & Toy Story in mind for the look and mood so I'm really happy to hear that!

@jake-white I actually thought about how it would have fit the LD40 theme when we started making it! Since it's the only other Ludum Dare jam I managed to finish haha. Nice work on LD40 btw! I just tried it out and it was fun! Definitely a fun mechanic ;)

Loved the intro :D The catchlines and the humor in this game is hilarious. Loved the piggy sound design on dialog, and the whole atmosphere

Actually the idea of getting more detectable with the coins you get is really interesting : D I would imagine a game like that with a scoring / speedrun incentive

Great job : D

Wow! This game is great... so much fun to play. The hammers coming after the piggy is humorous. The levels are challenging. Graphics/audio/music is well done. By far, the best game I played so far... congratulations!

This was amazing! Really well polished game, I loved the mechanics of the sound detection and how you kept adding things to each level to give it some variation. The hammers popping in made me jump a little in my chair. You guys even added an icon to the exe. I would play more of this! Keep it up.

The hammer enemy design is ridiculously perfect. I can't imagine a better villain for a piggy bank.

With a better camera system, and a way to use the coins, I could see this as a legit game I'd play. Great job!

Cool game! Really interesting stealth mechanics, and a good way of tying it into the theme.

I think you could have done a better job of conveying the different tradeoffs in traversal? I wasn't sure what holding space did to my detection radius or if there was a way to collect all the coins in a level without getting caught.

Thanks everyone! We're really glad to hear everyone is enjoying our entry! I personally love the fact that some of you we're surprised when you started getting chased by the hammers.

@dennis-jeong There could definitely have been a level that used the space bar power more. Essentially it reduces the radius of the sound you generate (it doesn't eliminate it completely) at the cost of depleting (digesting) your coin amount faster. As for the trade off, that was greed / high score related. We wanted to let the player go through the level easily if they wanted to or a LOT harder if they wanted to get a good score. Thanks again for playing! :)

This was an amazingly polished entry! I loved the balance of coin collection / noise generation to put a spin on the stealth genre. I beat one of the levels thought I got caught by the laser, by making a mad dash to the exit before the 10 or so hammers got me :). Does the high score system work? I saw an interface that listed the top 10 players but it was all blank.

I loved the visuals and the theming of the game. The hammers with ears got me laughing out loud. Very well done!

Well, that was a nice play. Stealth failed a bit when going south as you can't see what's ahead because of the camera position, but other than that everything else was excellent- the art, the humor, the sound and the little cutscenes! Awesome use of the theme too!

Overall a very fun and cute game. Both the music and graphics is really good. The only small complain is that I sometimes died without I knew why.

Best game until now!
And I didn't even play it. Saw a demo via a friend and I was immediately hooked by the concept.
Great job!

Very nice and polished game. Loved the hammers. Going backwards was kinda weird because of the camera position. Apart from that, the game is pretty good. Great job!

Awesome! That was fun to play, the sound design (when the hammer catched me I jumped from the sound) is great and I really like the idea. Good job!

One bug: the hammers might go through the outer wall when they are chasing you (happened on 2nd level).
