Love the sprite work here! Took me a second to realize what I had to use the money for lol but it was a really great experience!

Reminds me a lot of the nes game 'gimmick!' I like the idea of having to think outside the box with the mechanics to 'break' them but some parts were way too tricky that once I had gotten past it the first time I found myself not wanting to do it again after I reset.

Solid game, the level design and puzzles you need to solve with your coins work nicely. Whenever I bought an upgrade though, the game just restarted and I dind't notice a difference

@yazara If you try to buy an item that costs more than how much money you currently have you do end up dying and restarting.

I didn't end up having enough time to put in some proper animations, menus or tutorials in the game to properly explain it all sadly.

My first run was 13 coins, after which I summoned all my inner greed, tried again and made it out with 27.

The game has a very nice arcade-like quality where you learn more about the early parts the more you play and want to keep coming back and improve your run. Like in the first horizontal line of rooms you instinctually use up like 5 coins on your first run when really you only need one, things like that. The art was cute and the game felt crisp to play, I had lots of fun with this one. And I will die on the hill that buying the doublejump for 15 coins is part of the optimal strategy. Either way, good job!

It was actually pretty neat! I made 18 coins :) The gameplay and art were simple and clear, I really like the level design, all those little puzzles. You could add some descriptions of the items and sounds, other than that everything is nice.
