Incredibly frustrating, yet inexplicably satisfying.

Now I want to know how many combinations there are that work...

The art is great, too : )

I really love the idea, it fit perfectly to the theme. It's very simple but very efficient. Remind me the AI backpack problem. PICO-8 is always pleasent and pixel art is good.

I think it'll one of the best theme fitting entry !

good work!

PS : i managed to solve the puzzle quickly but that's ok for a jam, i can imagine a post jam version with lot of difficult puzzle to solve.

Nice, simple game that does well with the theme. Not very complex, wish there was more mechanics like rotating items and more levels introducing more complex items. But great and simple.

Simple but fun! The mechanic itself is not too new but turning the annoyance of packing as many items as we can in our inventory into an actual game is a brilliant take on the theme.

Like others I wish there was a bit more, like multiple levels, maybe wrapped in a funny story of a guy who starts a career in helping adventurers pack their stuff. Maybe even with unlockable skills like rotating items or convincing the client to sell one useless object... :P

If those were just solid color blocks I wouldn't think too much of it, but here it's funny how simply having the right setting & fitting art can inspire plenty of ideas. Nice job :)

Nothing about this game way compelling except the mere puzzle itself, which took me several minutes to figure out. I REALLY enjoyed playing it.

Thank you for sharing your game with me. I tried to play it on my stream tonight at https://www.twitch.tv/saoigames, but I'm not sure if it captured

I have rated your game.

I think you can hear my comments in the archive at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/300361630. If not here is an abridged version:

I liked the pico 8 style. You implemented one of the versions I had envisioned for my LD game. I like the way you implemented the puzzle factor, and I think there is a real potential for building levels and full game out of fitting all the pieces together in your backpack on each adventure.

Pros:
- Amazing graphics
- Solid gameplay
- Difficult gameplay

Cons:
- Moving items can feel weird sometimes
- You could have named the game "Back-packer" ;)

Haha I had fun and really wanted to solve this! Simple but nice entry. What added to the frustration in a good way is that if you wanted to put things back in the right part you sometimes couldn't because you stacked them wrong. I liked it.

Simple gameplay but incredibly addictive because it's incredibly hard to make all fit in that pack :o

Great job !! :)

Ta-dah, I placed items into the back pack :)

Also, I never knew there was a mouse-option for PICO-8 games :O

Awesome job! I wish there were more levels, though! Also, only I believe the 2nd Pico game I've seen so far out of the ones I've played personally. Nice pixel art also! :)

:) This is satisfying.
Good job, pixel art looks nice, it was fun to find back that feeling that I had especially playing Diablo and the joy of having packed everything :) Cool!
Cheers!

Could definitely have a few extra levels to start with extra space, and then have this as the last level where you're required to use every single cell. Definitely works, and it's fun in a Tetris sort of "fit everything together" way - but needs a little push for more gamification. :)
