protoball.gif

Breakout with an overload mechanic. Break bricks and vent the power to avoid overloading. Colliding with an overloaded protofusion ball stuns your ship.

Venting also unleashes the power of multiball.

Controls: left, right, Z.

Wow! Several really innovative improvements on classic Arkanoid, it used to be one of my favorite games. I'm not sure how I feel about freezing up controls, but this "core critical" mechanic is really promising.

Really great take on the theme and Arkanoid. As always, I love the art style. Hopefully, you spend a little more time with it. It would make for a great mobile game!

Nice game.
Graphics are really cool!
I don't know if it is voluntary, but you can "vent" before the "danger" signal, then it become just a good help...
Boss design is great!

A very solid game with some interesting twists to it, love the various improvements on the Arkanoid mechanics, and the graphic style is very good

I recognize the art style from your previous games. I liked the twist to the classic game and in general the way all bricks and walls bounced when hit by the balls. One thing was the upper left corner brick on the second level was a bit hard to discover since it was partially below the UI.

Well made game in general.

Great art as always, probably the best looking breakout game i ever played, the boss at the end was an unexpected and cute surprise. Gameplay was fun as you would expect with a classic, the vent mechanic was a nice variation and take on the theme. Shame about the lack of sound, more levels also would have been nice but its LD so only to be expected.

I don't mind there's no audio on this build, gameplay was quite fun and artwork was great :)

Concept looks very good! Like the modified arcanoid gameplay. But implementation of game can be better:
1) Strange reflections. Sometimes ball bounced by random way
2) Bugs. One of my tries destroy all blocks at second level but nothing going on.

Boss looking really very awesome! But I had tooo less lifes because of lags and bugs =(
And also cool shine animation of solid blocks =_-

Gorgeous art as usual, and pretty solid gameplay too. I really like the multiball mechanic. Had a weird bug the first time where the last block wouldn't go away, but it didn't happen in subsequent playthroughs. Would have liked to see (hear?) some basic audio & more varied levels but the game is still pretty solid regardless. Nice work!

Liked the multiball mechanic! Nice variant on breakout. I ran into some bugs where some bricks in the 2nd level couldn't be destroyed (maybe because I vented the ball on top of a bunch of bricks?) and then also where the last one looked like it got pushed up and couldn't be destroyed. Eventually though I was able to get a full playthrough with the boss. I liked the sheen animation and how that carried through with the boss. Nice job!

Really fun and original take on a classic and often overdone genre, and the ultraball mechanic fits the theme really well! Great job!

Really nice graphics on the game. A joy to behold.

I'd say that sometimes the direction the ball bounces seems a little bit random, though.

Really nice graphics and animations. The style is very appealing (∩^o^)⊃━☆゚.*・。゚

The game itself is rather safe, but well made.
