BEEP BOOP!

SHOPPOTRON loves shopping, but he's a little bit clumsy. Help guide him through the store to buy all the CPUs! This is a "tank controls" top-down 2D game made in Unity.

Features

  • 12 exciting levels of robot shopping action
  • 1 awkward robot who loves to shop
  • 45 CPUs (probably, I didn't count them)
  • The world's shortest OST that's longer than 0 seconds

Controls

  • WADS, Arrow keys, or control stick to move
  • esc to pause in a level

Dev Notes

I had a ton of fun making this game! This is my first time using Unity, and my first time completing a solo game project. SHOPPOTRON is pretty rough and there are millions of ways I could improve it, but I'm pretty happy just having finished a project enough to get it up online. Have fun!

The Theme

I used the theme as a jumping off point for brainstorming, but where I wound up doesn't have much to do with it. I wound up reducing scope quite a bit from my initial design, and if I had more of that stuff in here, I think it'd be more theme-y. Oh well, what can you do?

It works well! Reminds me why I hate shopping in stores this time of year. I enjoyed the awkward controls for the robot. It gets difficult fast with the battery draining speed.

My first thought was that the controls were quite janky, but it's probably by design, i just thought i should mention this.

I love the programmer art style, you nailed it in the graphics department.

I recommend that you don't start draining battery at the start, let the player see what's going on.
Once they move once, start draining the battery.

A bit to hard for me, but the music is dope! Which tool did you use to make it?

@beebo-studios, thanks! I made the music in Ableton Live Lite and then edited it a little bit in Audacity.

Oh damn it! it's pretty good and funny mix of arcade and puzzle game! And it took my driving skills into consideration of mine!

Very well made, especially taking in consideration that this was your first unity game!

The only thing I would edit is the draining of the battery. You could make it only drain when the drone is moving, otherwise the stress level gets up too fast. Otherwise the game was pretty fun and the music is really smoothing :D Great work!

I was a bit shocked by the start screen graphics but I'm glad that I tried the game anyway. Although the controls could be a bit improved it's really fun. Just an idea if you want to keep working on this: how about only draining the battery, when a key is pressed? I mean, why would the robot drain it while doing nothing? ;)

Pretty hard game ! You should have given a little more battery or like @satyre said, would be perfect! Fun game though!

"Don't damage the merchandise" yet a ram into the computer all the time - lol. Not bad for a first time unity game. Clear and simple object, easy to understand control, and the whole concept of the machine being clumsy was translated well into the controls yet it never felt unfair, hard sure, but do able.

Liked the challenge of this and thought it eased you in to the gameplay and difficulty well. Although I did find one of the earlier ones harder then some of the later ones. The rules of the objects were also taught well.
