Hi! This game contains flashy graphics and if you happen to have photosensitive epilepsy I would recommend not playing this game, sorry! :X

Walking through the forest feels great! But sometimes you get a little hungry... You're in luck though, because the forest is here for you in... Mushroom Délicieux!

The only controls are the arrow keys!

My advice: run a lot!

This was made in compo conditions (I made everything over the week-end), except for the time limit.

Have fun and please let me know what you think! =)

That was awesome!! The effects were a bit too much for me, so I could only play for a little bit, but I made it to level 4! :P I'm so astounded by everyone's amazing work they accomplished this weekend!! Great job <3

My only critique is that when you're running around wildly it's really hard to tell what's coming at you, but traversing carefully doesn't feel as fun. That is my ONLY complaint, however. I love this so much!! Easily my favorite of all the games I've played tonight. Be proud of yourself!

Uwaaaa, this looked so pretty! I like the art a lot~!
It was kinda hard to tell what/where the shrooms to pick up were, but other than that, it was really nice :D

Great game! It feels alive, everything moves or has a glitter and the effects are sick, it becomes a bit confusing in later levels because of everything that's happening, but it also adds to the fun and mood of the game!

Excelent graphics, really cool gameplay, I love it! Maybe a little too hard XD I managed to get to level 4 so far, I'll keep trying! Maybe the enemies could be clearer, bigger? But really, good job!

Nice Pico-8 entry! I think this game fits perfectly with that pico-8 charm. It's fun doing shrooms.

INSANE amount of graphics and effects. It fit the theme really well, since it's all great art, but it's such a mess on the screen that you have trouble playing it as you advance in difficulty. Art style is really cool and doesn't feel like a standard pico8 game at all (even your other games). It feels like you unlocked some secret palette colors or something.

Wow! Definitely my favorite so far. The graphics are fun and colorful and probably eventually headache-inducing, but in this case that's great- fits the theme fantastically. The music is very fun and upbeat as well.

Great game! I love the great idea. Really fun to play because it is so action packed.

### Comments
- The graphics were a little hard to distinguish
- The game moves, shakes, and flashes to rapidly (this makes it more fun and action packed but maybe a little less all over the place)

Overall really great!

Neat game with enough features that I kept playing for a bit. Level 5 was the highest I reached! Loved all the effects. Screen felt very crowded, but I guess that's part of the difficulty. Good work!

Great job! The visuals are great and the gameplay is really fun! The SFX were also pretty satisfying. One suggestion I do have is to make the amount of items/things that hurt you less frequent in the beginning, because I was very confused at first. Another thing I noticed was that the invincibility potions seemed to be extremely common and I was almost constantly invincible.

It's still a really fun/satisfying game!

Really fantastic juice/gamefeel - every action you take is tremendously satisfying. The vibrant visuals are terrific, although everything is so bright and colorful and fast-moving that it's a bit hard to pick out enemies from items, which made my first few runs a bit confusing. Excellent work overall!

Very chaotic, but really fun!

A nice looking run-around game! It's a bit hard to distinguish the items and the enemies though. Also a lot of flickering, even though I'm not epileptic but it feels still bad for my eyes.

But overall, worth playing.

A fun idea! While I liked the idea of the aesthetic, I do think this game suffers from it, since it can be kinda hard to make out what's what in the later levels. It wasn't anything that awful, but perhaps something that could use a bit of tweaking. Overall, I'd say it's worth a shot. Good work.

Hi everyone, thank you so much for all the feedback and all the kind words!

I wanted to let you know that I just did a tiny update where I reduced a little the damage the enemies do as well as the screen shake caused by that event. I hope that makes it more playable!

Thanks again! :)

Ah yes, this brought back such fond memories from my youth. Sprinting naked through the trees. Eating whatever the forest floor provided. Nothing to keep you occupied in the evening but the visions. Those were the days. 5 stars.

The art style and world the player lives in is pretty awesome, great idea. Got to level 4 and felt a little defenseless against the big and fast guys. With a few more features added to the characters abilities I think this could be a really amazing mobile and or pc game.

This is gorgeous! I found it a bit too hard to play to completion (made it 6/7 like four times before giving up, haha), but definitely nailed the feel of the theme. It manages to have a look-and-feel very unlike most pico-8 games too; it's an interesting progression in art style from your last one!

Hey hey, I've played a couple of pico8 games now and they all share nice visuals, animations and sound.

Seems to me as if the engine is a stellar choice for gamejams. Good work on the game! I was pretty confused in what I was doing, but I got to lvl 5/7 and that left me feeling good about myself - thanks for that! :P

This wasa very polished game, i did find that the "juice" was to a level where the game was very noisy, I honestly had no idea what was happening the majority of the time, that being said the game was still great!

It's a very well made, very polished game, but the visuals were so busy. It felt like you'd taken every little PICO-8 visual trick you've developed over the years and jammed it in here. It was really had to tell what was happening. Text flying around, screen shakes, visual flares. It was too much.

I was mostly running to the right in panic and somehow managed to get to level 4. I'm glad I could just keep running. And perhaps the controls could have been further simplified that way... The game was fun and well made. I would have liked a little more time in the beginning to learn what are actually the edibles and such because later on I really didn't have the time to learn about it. There in particular were some fungi looking things that I was not allowed to eat and that was a bit confusing. But in general a really nice game. Solid music. Controls easy to understand.

Pretty wild ride! I love the manic graphics and how it becomes more intense with each level. Could do with removing whatever those blue blobs are that do nothing, they are a distraction that I don't think add to the game. Very fun game though, and looks and sounds great :)

I know you've seen this comment already, but my only gripe would be that there are inedible items on the map that look like mushrooms. Aside from that, I think you really nailed this. Being that the game is visually noisy (a good thing for this concept, I think), it would just help a bit if what was and was not edible was clearer. This was really enjoyable, nice job!

This little thing has quite nice visuals and audio!

As the others, I found the game a bit confusing. That's probably because in the first levels, some decorations look like food. Given that enemies are living environmental elements, the confusion may get worse. Also, I had a bit of trouble with the camera the first time I played (I also found it a bit weird).

Other than that, the game is fun!

So gorgeous and the sounds work perfectly. The little running dude is just too cute. This really showcases what pico8 can do, and has me looking into it over and above my noob unity knowledge :)

The only gripe is that there's not that much more to the game besides running and avoiding enemies, but the sheer amount and quality of juice almost makes up for it entirely :P

It feels just like this one time I had with mushrooms :)

The game was amazing, but with the relative fast pace and the flashing graphics I ended up a bit sick

Because of those two factors, sometimes it was a bit tricky to tell mushrooms or potions from enemies and other elements, as you would be mostly moving around and everything was changing (at least visually) so fast.
Despite this, I really liked the art, sounds and music were fitting and the gameplay itself was solid. Congratulations!

Got stale relatively quick. There was too much going on at once for me to recognize all of the cool things that were happening without really thinking about it so I didn't even notice changing levels. Something needs to feel more different between levels (maybe some a quick powerful transition you could make the transition more clear (but it needs some interspersed "nothing is happening" or it goes by unnoticed by contrast)).

Excellent use of the theme, it's a neat idea to retranscribe the mushroom hallucination and paranoia into a cute pico 8 game ; it's very fun to see this little guy running away from such horrible things as flowers/smiling sun/trees ...
The gameplay is very simple but having the only option to run away, drink *potions* and eating mushroom to escape things getting too weird kinda sounds like a great metaphor to me. The glitch thing when getting higher is neat. I had some slowdowns, music was a bit repetitive but fits nicely, sfx are well choosen. Visuals are cute, and it's easy to recognize your own style :p
I've reached level 10 out of 7... you think it's over, but it's not ! xD
Cheers!

Always enjoy seeing what you're able to create with Pico-8 and this is another interesting game. Liked the way you have to move around the screen quickly and can't see what's up ahead, means you have to think quickly with what you're running into. The chaotic feel as you progress also works well in raising the stakes and making it more difficult. Got up to level 5 on my first go.

I really liked the art style and how you managed to make clear indicators of what is a power-up and what is an enemy so we can keep up on what's going on despite the fast pace. For the mushrooms it was a bit less obvious. Also, I did not see the purpose of "epileptic" effects, other than hindering visibility.

I have managed to reach level 8 out of 7? Though by then I quickly died because it became really too hard. I would say, after level 5 it becomes very difficult to understand what's going on on the screen but I guess this is going in accordance with the theme.

In short, it's a hectic arcade game with a pleasing retro style, and quite an interesting challenge.

You know I love the stuff you do. Your graphics are super charming and all your games are really juicy and feel good to play and all of that is also true for this little gem ^^
However, I felt like the screen was a bit hard to read. I think there was too much stuff going on for me to understand what was happening. I understood the game perfectly - loved the tutorial - but it was just information overload when I started playing for real.
