Ticker Clicker Defence by smiley
Ticker Clicker Defence

How to play
The game is a mix between a tower defence and a clicker.
Place your defences on the grid and wait for the waves of enemies to arrive. All costs of units and the upgrades of those will cost health from your heart.
Every killed enemy drops health but be quick to pick it up as they disappears quickly.

- Unity 2019.1
- Aseprite
- Ableton Live
- Gimp
All graphics, music, audio and code was created during the Jam. No assets from Assets store was used. A few standard Unity provided packages was added and used.

Post-jam version 1.1

After the release we was inspired to do a post-jam version with a few annoying bugs fixed (quicker restarts, better menus, flashing towers instead of the upgrade text) and some tweaking done to the enemy spawner.

Very well done.
Is it ok or a bug that laser hits first target and then hits another one? I had it multiple times.
I will say though that the game is awfully repetitive, and since there is nothing that could potentially damage your weapons, and no variety in the kinds of enemies you are up against, all you end up doing is upgrading and collecting hearts ad-nausium.
The game could also really benefit from being able to skip scrolling text or speeding up the actual waves at any point in time.
Otherwise nice, good graphics and fun!
I lost at crazy wave 19, maybe I could have made it if I didn't loose so many green hearts at wave 18 ! In general, clicking on stuff was a challenge.
**Pros:** Nice, clean professional graphics. Awesome soundtrack and sfx. Felt great watching the lasers go pew-pew and enemies' blood spatter.
**Room for improvement:** (ignoring that it's a limited-time Game Jam) Game started out slow for a long time, then really picked up the pace by level 12, and I mean *really*. So that experience could be balanced better. If I'm honest, the clicker mechanics felt a bit forced. I'd rather be upgrading my turrets than clicking mindlessly at hearts. I think the thematic connection still works without it, and it's still very original.
For three days, it's a great attempt. Hope to see more from you!
Also, the pun-based name, "Ticker Clicker", is appreciated.
A few little niggles, like the slow intro text, and overlapping text/UI stuff when there are lots of towers on-screen.
Made it to wave 20!
Everything was nice and easy, that is until round 20, which I'm certain is impossible. Bloom was a bit on the crazy side, and although the changing ui colours was nice, the version of ui with the bright blue grid was very hard to look at. With more towers and enemies, this could become a very fleshed out, and most importantly fun game!
Made it to level 20 too but I think that it's impossible to fo farthest u_u.
Nice job !
Great job!!
I'm a bit sad because it takes so much time to play. I would like to restart faster.
But congrats, it's nice
You don't have a lot of money/life to spend in the start, you are kinda hopeles in this start.
Also the game takes a lot to start, it kinda makes you think that it isn't worth it to wait so long.
The graphics and the sound are nice but the game needs a lot of balance. And it isn't too innovative, and it takes the theme very basically, it could be more deep.
Great visuals.
Great music score.
Great sound effects.
And a lot of fun to play!
One minor thing: The 'upgrade' text clutters the screen sometimes.
Then it's hard to see the underlying turrets/lazers.
