The game isn't working for me. When I run it (from either the installer or standalone) it opens, shows the opening credits, then the title screen that says Press Any Key. But the only key that does anything is Esc (which exits).

Hi, same problem as pladams9. (running Win10, updated)

This is definitely one of the better games. As an idea it's quite valuable, because the gameplay just kind of clicked. Of course it's unfinished as the difficulty didn't progress quick enough and I became bored before I was dead. I would definitely go forward with this. Improve variation a bit, more polished sprites. The game settign seemed interesting.

Is this even a Ludum Dare game? The only giveaway is that people look a bit shit. That's it. The game is great, best one I played so far.

Stuck at title screen.
"Push a Key" don't work, so I can't play it :(

hello @pladams9 , try the version not installed (single), and check that your anti-virus does not do a check, I just check the version on itchio.o it works on my windows 8, or try a compatibility mode for windows XP for example.

That was actually fun, couldn't beat Hard level. So did you try to mix shooter and puzzle game? That's nicely done.

It's exactly that @zoglu thanks ! To fix the difficulty requires more test time! Can be an update on my itchio page after the end of the votes!

I managed to make 325129 points in normal mode ! (But I lost)

This game is really great ! Good music, good graphics, fun, dynamic. I like how it is almost a rhythm game by using alternatively red/green shots.

(I played with a gamepad, it feels really intuitive)

The bicolour idea reminds me of Ikaruga. Luckily this is way easier than dear old Ikaruga...
It takes a bit of time to get used to the red/green key bindings but after that it's nice and clean. The artwork is great for me.

@Mikkeli-Matlock yes i got inspired from the game like bust and move, tetris, ikaruga with an ounce of dating for the princess.

@Matt-Pattabhi What is your OS ? Have you try single.exe or installer.exe, try to desactivate your antivirus (maybe block the game the first launch).

For everyone it is not working for - I realized that you have to press the 'A' key to start/select. 'Z' key goes back/cancels. You can't press ANY key at the title screen. I think it is because this game was created with a console controller in mind.

There's a lot to like here! Sound especially is done well. I would like to have seen the demons be different sprites for the sake of colour-blind people. A and Z are also odd choices of keys.

If anyone's virus scanner makes the game not work, Alt+F4 then run it again. Scan shouldn't run twice.

Thanks, @Radical-Dog I admit I did not think of colour-blind people ! But a different sprite it's a good idea for diversity!

Took a while for me to find the correct "push key" at the start, but once I get into the game it was really fun! Smooth gameplay and the pricess' animations are quite funny haha. Great work!

A really fun game! Love the princess panicking as the enemy got close, I always miss click A and Z and ended up just stacking them up.. the princess hates me! Love it :D

I gotta say I am not a fan of the art style so I came into the game a bit biased but man was it fun, it's really well made and save for the music loop being too short (to the point were it becomes repetitive) and the graphics, everything else is really good, the game is super fun good job dude :smile_cat: .

Very fun game, my only nitpick was that (at least in normal difficulty) it was a bit long to complete the game, I survived a long time and barely won in the end. But really, great work 👌

A funny way to seduce a princess :D
The mood is nice.
Some improvements possible :
- tutorial could be implemented in game instead of 3 pages of text to explain the game. One page for the story could be enough.
- the asset used for the red and green things we shoot seems to be messy.
- houses in the background are difficult to understand, it seems overloaded

24. Apr 2018 · 16:29 UTC
@visumecadroide Yes I agree, I did a tutorial in the form of pages because it is faster to do and it was limited! (48h), but in a finished version it would be the case yes ^^, thanks for your feedback!

Addicting! My score on Normal is 158982. I guess it plays a lot better on the controller too, since I kept losing track of which key was which on the keyboard. I'll also be taking a look at the source. Lots of stuff to learn here :D

was cool, but felt a bit boring after a while, maybe scaling the difficulty (more separated enemies or more speed or something would have made it better).

The graphics are a bit weird, I would consider removing the clouds, It would probably give the game a cleaner look.

Thanks for your game anyway : )

This is great! I'm a big shmup fan and this had a nice frantic gameplay. It also looks very much like it could be a japanese indie game from like 2006 (which is a compliment!). Music fits really well as well

This game is really fun. I was expecting it to act like Puzzle Bobble where spheres fall when nothing holds it from above but still it is fun as it is. The controls are great and the music is nice. Good work.

This was a fun concept (I also made a shooter/puzzle mashup), but it seemed like the princess happiness bar filled too slowly. A little more variety in the game would go a long way I think, but I did enjoy it still.

One other thing I noticed was that hard difficulty was super slow and thus much much easier than easy difficulty (newgrounds version).

I really enjoyed the art and polish this game had! Simple game-play but was very well done. Also, this is one of the few games I've got to play this Ludum Dare with an Xbox controller, which is really cool! Great submission!

Pretty solid entry, it does get very repetitive and easy too quickly even on hard mode. Music is not quite suited to the game really. Fun to play though.

In this game two wrongs make a right (fire two of the wrong color and you are good).

Really fun! Simple and easy to understand but intense and addicting. Unlike a lot of LD games I don't feel like anything is missing from this one. It's a great standalone game. The only criticism I have is the music and in-game graphics could be polished a bit more, but honestly they are fine as they are. The audio didn't work in the web version.

It's like an action puzzle game. Great work.

Thanks @veztron ! Regarding the sound, the web version is an HTML5 conversion, it can be related to your browser version or flash version eventually (because of NEWGROUNDS). Again thank you for the feedback!

Cool concept, although I kinda wish there were more puzzle elements. The shooting mechanic was solid and fun. It wasn't clear if I was making much progress on increasing the princess bar though (I was playing on normal) so the game just sort of felt like it was going on forever. Would be cool to maybe break it up into shorter levels instead of being endless. Still pretty fun though, nice work!

I did it, I made the princess love me!

The red/green change was what kept me on my toes, it added a new layer of tension to the game play which I enjoyed. Most of the times I was overwhelmed by the demons was when I pressed the wrong button and got out of my rhythm. Thankfully, it's not that much of a death sentence and you can bounce back from that, that was nice. There were a lot of other satisfying design choices too, like the enemies appearing in chunks. I think the music helped elevate the game play too, it felt really fitting. The beat was a nice guide in timing shots. Very fun game, great job!
