About the game

Yard Time is a black comedy game. You play as a warden of a maximum security prison, who is unable to pay prison guards after the prison budget is severely cut by the new US administration. You have to keep the inmates from running away without pepper gas, batons or snipers on towers or even an electrified fence...

...Can you prevent the prison break?

Windows build added! Check the Readme.txt file if the game doesn't start (you may need to install OpenAL).

I really ejoyed this, nice work! I think the hitboxes for selecting the inmates could have been a bit bigger, maybe even a multi select. But that might make too easy though.

Had a lot of fun!

Unfortunately I can only rate you on your screens as it's mac only. However, the graphics look good in the way that every piece plays along nicely with another. You've got a HUGE amount of classic and smart balance though (maybe you understand the system, who knows).

Have to give you extra credit for install instructions, very nice thought!

Colours look to work well together and I love the fact you just leave skeletons lying around XD

Skipped the intro accidentally the first time, didn't know how to go back fast so i restarted the game. There should be a way to go to the menu/exit the game while playing. Cool concept tho

Nice game! Had to install some things to get it working in Windows, but it was worth it. It was quite hard managing the prisoners.

Nice game, had it running with no troubles! I like that there is voice acting, that's something rare for an LD game. Gameplay seems lacking though, I wish there was something else to do besides just issuing inmates where to go :D

**Pros:** Hilarious and addicting gameplay. Top-notch sound effects. Beautiful graphics.

**Cons:** It was a little bit annoying having to re-click each prisoner individually.

This game is amazing - easy to learn, funny and addicting. The graphics are reminiscent of Prison Architect and Rimworld, and animations were great. Sound effects were hilarious. The game is very polished and simple. Right on point, especially for a LD Jam game. I would consider expanding this game further, and port it to mobile. I would have a prisoner remain selected after giving a move instruction, as having to re-click prisoners over and over again got a little bit frustrating.

The game was well made. But agree with other poster that it's annoying to re-select. Would also prefer being able to set another prisoner as target position, not just the ground.

Well-implemented and polished. I thought it was a bit unclear how things were functioning under the hood – why they would think "Escape" and what it would actually do. Targeting other prisoners, as others have mentioned, would have helped a lot as well. And final note... it was kind of offensive. And I don't get offended easily. I guess I'm a bit sensitive right now with the current political climate. The idea of prisoners being forced to murder each other based on race just wasn't a funny to me. :-(

343 days on first attempt! By the way, very original and nice idea and very cool and polished game! The difficulty curve is tuned in a great way, it is never an easy game nor a frustrating one.

@eli-delventhal Sorry if it was offensive, but we actually warned about it in the description. This game's setting is offensive by design, but it wasn't meant as a true-to-life depiction of the penitentiary system in the US or relationships between the population of different ancestry. It is a foreigner's retelling of a criminal drama like "Shot Caller", but without actual drama and taken to the point of absurdity. And no, prisoners aren't forced to murder each other here, these gang members just can't resist the urge to settle accounts with each other.

Nice game! Voice-acting is always a plus, the theme is executed nicely as well, nothing bad to say about this game! Only thing I had trouble with first was selecting the prisoners, clicking the head didn't seem to work for me. Great job!

Very interesting idea and execution. I'd thought about the similar idea but didn't make it fit the theme. Very nice game. But it's the criminals' hit box seems a bit small that it's hard to select sometimes.

Very peculiar mechanic ^^
The graphics were nice, especially the animations.
Sadly there isn't much depth it's always the same thing over and over again.
The audio is also nice and pretty funny as well.

Very fun! The integration with the theme was spot on, and the gameplay was fun!
