Heavy Gold by Poorwill
The more loot you have, the more slower and sluggish you are.
There are goblins who want to hurt you.
There are goblins who are more interested in the loot.
Some loot is heavier.
LMB to move.
RMB to swing your sword.
SPACE to drop the heaviest loot you have.
You are Hoxan! A legendary hero too deep inside a dungeon.
Gather loot falling from the cracks from the level above.
Kill goblins with your mighty dreihander.
Loot info:
Silver - Heavy, worthless
Gold - Heavy, worth slightly more
Rubies - Light, worth significantly more
Diamonds - Light, worth a lot
Used SFXR for audio effects
Used Bosca Ceoil for music

P.S. Your death screen says the same thing as mine does! "You have perished"
Nice idea and decent execution though!
It's entertaining, it's cool that you can hit goblins by just turning around.
@benhumphries yeah "You have perished" felt really powerful and appropriate for some reason :D. I also have a "You have triumphed" in there.
Overall good job!
The only thing "to improve" that I can suggest (you tested and played it more times) is the movement. Maybe an asdw movement + hitting with the mouse would be easier to control, but I saw it as a challenge and I really like it.
Great work
Great job!
Good job :)
Okay, seems very good, but I think there is a little bit lack of objective. I would like to see some improvement to my hero when I collect gold, or spend it on something, because for me is more interesting moving around killing Goblins then getting points :)
Btw, hope this helps. If you need more deep info, you can summon me here. Hope I can help you with this feedback. Also, if possible check my game too.
The mechanics for picking up the gold and dropping it were more than fine, although I never felt a hindrance from carrying too much. Again, I don't think I'm very good at this game :P
Well, regardless, it was a fun experience, so I hope you're proud of it, as you should be. In behalf of my team, we contratulate you on making it to the compo! Cheers! :whale:
The drop loot mechanic is cool, I just feel like it might have been missing a further goal. Perhaps needing to bring the loot back to a base? It needed a little extra anyway :)
Oh and the music reminded me of the first Mortal Kombat, nice :D
Feedback is definitely the key word here--in my situation, I was sort of surprised when I died the first time, since unlike hitting the goblins (which provides great, very entertaining feedback) you at most get a little tick and the health bar in the corner going down when you run into a goblin too fast.
