ShapeShifters Escape by sxm1041

[raw]
made by sxm1041 for LD35 (JAM)
You are a shapeshifter and you find yourself in an unfamiliar environment. The only possibility of escape that you can see is following a trail of portals through terrain you cannot navigate.

Fortunately you are a shapeshifter and can take on many different forms, collect talismans to transform yourself and escape this strange place.

This is my first Ludum Dare and generally my first real attempt at creating a game.

It was created using libGDX for its ability to load and render textures, and port to html5 easily. Everything else was coded from scratch.

This game is far from complete and there are still lots of improvements to be made and many more levels with various complexities to be created.

When playing, if the character does not move to begin with, try clicking the refresh button at the top left of the frame and then click on the game and continue.

Fun game! I liked the variety of powers. Would be great if backgrounds had more detail and there was spooky music to go with the dungeon.

Awesome game! Audio would've been nice, but I really enjoyed it.

Very neat, especially for your first game! The puzzles were well thought out with a nice difficulty curve. Even one or two sound effects would have gone a long way but it was very enjoyable nonetheless.

Simple idea, well executed, it's a little hard to handle correctly some moves in shaped form, but it works. :)

Difficult to play for me, as I use a dvorak keyboard. Maybe try implementing more keyboard input options, arrow keys?

Like the overall way you made the powers work with the world. I would've liked some way to get back up to certain ledges without needing to reset each time, but that's more of a balance issue. Well done!
