REALLY loved the art style, audio was good but wish it was a little more (like a gas pedal noise? Fun game!

I loved it. Love the art theme to the game too. In my head the point of a jam is to find the simplest idea off the theme and this is the purest definition so far.

This game was awesome! Although the gameplay did get a bit repetitive, I thought it was a cool concept and the graphics were very nice.

I really like the grainy art style and the classic cartoon backdrop. The core gameplay is very simplistic, but it fits the theme and does involve some optimization skill. The music works with the mood and pace of the game, but I'm less convinced that it fits the idea of high-speed racing. The background scrolling is nice, but I think there's more that could be done here to sell the idea of speed. Also, I think this game would benefit from having a countdown at the start rather than just throwing the player into the race. I lost a few seconds on my first attempt just trying to get my bearings. Nice work! Scores: Attempt 1: 120411. Attempt 2:
148617.

Great artwork, and nice to take a breather with a game having only one button :P
A few additional mechanics might bump up the fun factor. Perhaps ramps you need to push the pedal to the metal on to clear jumps, or oil slicks you need to slow down at lest spin out of control, or perhaps catch fire.

Good job!

Love the art and music was good. Game is a little simplistic, I think it could be expanded on.

Like the art and music. Probably needs some dynamic elements so there's another dimension for keeping the speed high but not too high.

Nice game and great art style. I think the game needs more mechanics to increase the replay value of the game. More expansion on the idea and it would become addictive. Great work.

Neat soundtrack! And i really dig this cartoony artstyle. It would have been nice to have a raving car engine sound when you get faster and some sort of end game soundeffect, but that's just minor complaints.

Very cool, good audio and graphics! I would add some rocks that the car has to bump over to spice up the gameplay but overall pretty fun! Please play mine at https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/rush-hour

Gameplay-wise it could use some more elements, just mashing mouse button gets boring faster than you even finish. Artwork is awesome, little more animations at the start wouldn't hurt.
This is one of those games that would benefit from network highscoreboard.

nice graphics. I guess the gampleay need more elements so you have to adjust your speed to specific events or road situations. But the core idea is pretty good.

Loved the Wacky Races feel to the game. Destroying your own car has never been so much fun. Would be great if there were other racers, or detours that I could have taken. I spent a glorious few minutes imagining that I was Dick Dastardly with Muttley in the boot behind me.

Good little game - would have liked a bit more of a challenge in it though, perhaps throw in an 'something on the road' obstacle that you have to manage with another key?
Art style is nice - hand drawn and scanned?

the art is spectacular but the game is way too simple and short. You should have dedicated a little more time for the mechanics. Overall, really great job :)

The art and sound is good. It would be good if we had a feedback when we accelerate and when the engine gets hot. Great work.

Awesome, how parts of your car fall off when you drive to fast.
And pretty cool graphics style.
Well done.

Thanks so much for all the comments, appreiated!! Only had a 12hr window to create the game so used it to work on our time management and priorities- what and how to build and still have something usefull in a short time. So many assets and ideas on the cutting room floor but we got a game and really hope you like it!

Liked the art, but the game lacked challenge and variation. Understand that this has a lot to do with the time constraint. Some suggestions for future development: rivals or ghosts to race against, hills (uphill/downhill), different road types, depot stops (fill gas and change tyres), weather (rain might cool you off, but leaves the road slippery).
