Trashsucker is a platformer where you suck all the trash with your vacuum.

You also need to stay alive so it's important to determinate all trashballs on your path.

To empty your vacuum you need to shoot them to a wastebin

After you have finished cleaning whole area then you can move to next location.

I like the idea of the vacuum, the effect is cool but I couldn't find the interaction between my weight and the amount of garbage I carry. I find fun that i can sprint just hiding the vacuum clear. The punch mechanic is weird and clearly unfinished, I think attacking with the garbage would be much more fun and engaging with the original concept. Ignoring the fact that the is no end to the game (I kill the monster and cleaned all the level) the execution was pretty good.

Edit: I read the "Enter for next location" doesn't work for me on itch.io, as well as "Escape". I had an error punching the air.

TrashSucker is the most badass name I've found for an LD submission so far, so you've got that going. Sounds very pro-wrestling-like.

Anyhow, first of all, I really enjoyed the concept and the mechanics of picking up the trash. It flies so fluidly, and being able to pick the trash up and then fire a barrage of junk looks and feels just right. My quip is that it felt a bit underused, specially since switching between wearing it and punching felt somewhat clunky.

Sprinting and moving feels alright, but the levels did feel a bit too big, causing a monotonous backtracking experience at points.

All in all, the trash sucking and firing mechanics are glorious, and it'd be great if in the future you expanded on the concept. Say, like firing trash below to reach new areas, or fill gaps, or something of that matter.

Great work overall. Speaking for my team, we wish you a great LD, and hope to see more of you in the future! :whale:

PD: I can't get over how great Trashsucker sounds in my head.

I agree with everything @moski said and couldn't say it better myself. The mechanics feel great but the levels felt a bit big. The audio is also good. Well done!

I really liked the walking animation and the music. I wish you alse did something for attack animation too. Nice idea!

Fun game! The music can be a little annoying, though. But good work!

Seems fun, but I can't get past the first part. I can't sprint and jump at the same time. Let me know if there is an update and I will update my scores.

You need to take off your Trashsucker first.

> I can’t get past the first part

You probably left some trash somewhere or haven't emptied your garbage to a waste bin.

### What you did well:

You created a nice little game with smooth animations and some pretty interesting sprites. I was rather impressed at how you managed to get so much trash on screen with their own colliders and such yet my game ran at high performance. The soundtrack was okay too.

### What you could improve on:

First of all, clarify the goal of the game inside the game. I had to tab back to the ld page to find out what it was that I was supposed to do. Second of all, program the waste bin in such a way that it doesn't require all of the trash, just maybe 90% of it, this stops the player from going on some wild chase to find that one last piece of trash.

But overall, a nice little game.

Great concept but needs to be polished more.

I enjoy the trash sucking ability, but it can be more than that. The combat with the hand is not good for your game, especially when there is no animations or effect to indicate where you hit. I suggest you to use trash cannon or something else to replace it, that may make the game more enjoyable.

Another thing is your level's goal is not clear. I have to remember where the trash is by myself, which is hard and I may lose a single piece of trash then I get stuck. Maybe you can use a meter to show how much trash is there to be collected, or a arrow to show the direction to remaining trash.

Good work!

Pretty okay game.

The combat is kinda bad imo. There's no way to indicate if you hit or not and punhing doesn't seem to work melee? You have to have some distance between you and the monster in order for your punch to hit.

Nice game even if it has some kinks. I like the mechanic of sucking in trash though I feel like the punching mechanic isn't really needed and is buggy. You have to be far away to attack the enemies which doesn't make it feel much like a punch. If it were me I'd probably make the empty hand either like a cannon that will shoot out trash and hurt enemies or change the way shooting out trash is now and make it go farther and faster.

Punching isn't entirely successful, but it is very satisfying cleaning up all of the trash. The trash physics are great. I'm not entirely sure what makes me lighter when my trash-sucker isn't equipped but i'm still carrying it - took me a while to figure that out. The difficulty seemed to ramp up quite significantly, but then there's only so much you can do to balance a game in the time available.

Overall, innovative and satisfying.

I hope now I'll be better in trashsucking at home. Surprisingly the main mechanic feels really good.

At first I thought you can blow trash at enemies as well to kill them. The second assumption was that enemies produce trash (by throwing it or after their death).

And the second level seems quite big in comparison to the first one.

Here is my playtest (sorry I failed it :head_bandage:):

Really cool platformer! I included it in my Ludum Dare 40 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xx45BEcC9_s
