Elixir by rupazero

[raw]
made by rupazero for LD35 (COMPO)
Try to convince the Metaphysician to prescribe you the elixir so that you can ascend to your true form. Discover what your true form is while you experiment with performativity. Crush medical equipment with your bare hands. Smash the system.

An experiment in interactive fiction centering on a constructed language. I also wanted to practice qualities-based storytelling to at least some degree, though the primary narrative structure is regular old string-of-pearls.

Love it! I'm having flashbacks to Morrowind - which is not a bad thing, I love Morrowind, and I love this!

Really wonderful text adventure! I loved the sense of not knowing what you or anyone else is saying, or what effect everything has, and watching everything play out. Great work, great mood!

As a trans person this game really speaks to me. It feels a bit odd to be hot and cold at the same time, it looks a bit unclear whether this is a design choice of the effects of the Infernal realm, or whether they're supposed to replace each other.

Definitely enjoyed, either way!

I really like the mood of the game/story. The infernal language is an interesting feature too.

Loved the use of Latin (?), and the need for "translations" in real time. It's an idea with great potential, and the writing sets the mood perfectly.

The way the sentences reshape is a constant reminder of how you want to ascend to your true form, combined with a constructed language and great writing makes this interactive story very enjoyable. Great entry!

Wow, IF and conlangs, two of my favorite things! :D This is really cool. The conlang is such an interesting challenge - familiar enough to give you some hints, but opaque enough that you have to make guesses and take chances. It immerses you in the mood of the story right away.

The reshaping sentences perfectly match the theme, as well as the subject matter of the adventure. Clever.

This is my favorite Twine game, to date. Also I made an account just so I could give you a compliment on this game. (But now I am going to check the place out!)

Super interesting game! I included it in my video compilation series of Ludum Dare games, if you’d like to check them out :) https://youtu.be/6jh8RTn7UxY

Seriously fantastic. I didn't know interactive fiction could be so engrossing.

I just had a metaphysical journey, and it was good. Now, I know I'm a werewolf. Or a daemon. Or something like that. Who cares, I had the elixir, and that's the most important thing. Or the least. Who cares, I'm riding a dragon !
