Chopping Spree by roaringcatgames

Fight monsters, grow your weapon to it's full potential.

In Chopping Spree you play as a dagger, aspiring for greater destruction. As you defeat rat minions, you grow and transform to bigger and better forms.

Each enemy has an aura (just a bunch of colored particles :/). To damage enemies you must switch to the OPPOSITE aura.

Our team wasn't able to commit the full weekend to the JAM, so we ended up unfinished. Bears, and the Troll Boss did not make it in. The player only faces forward. Collisions need work. Rats appear to attack, but do no damage. Animation frames are a bit off in places. You know, JAM issues :)

This game is incomplete. The shifting doesn't quite work, it has no ending (you just stop at the end), enemies can't hit you and it's pretty clunky. Needs more work

I love the art. The music is simple but it works really well.

I liked the progression of the chopping tool and the associated faces. The graphics themselves were good and look like they probably took some decent effort to create.
I didn't really understand the purpose of the aura, it didn't seem to add too much to the game. There are some issues to be worked on (as stated) but overall I liked it.

Hi, nice game ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #35.
Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description

Liked the graphics and the intro screen (even though it doesn't quite fit the game)

You already know about your issues, that's cool ;)

I know it's not complete and there are issues but I played it all the way through and had a grand time! I liked the graphics and gameplay. Issues abound but this delivered on FUN!

Music is moody and omnious and I liked that each weapon had its own effects. Art was nice. Would love to see this with a day's more work put into it. (Eh, jams. What're you gonna do?)
