Memory Warfare by dirtymoonz
My first Ludum Dare completed, and here is my game!
With the theme, I took two genres and made them play side-by-side where actions in one game influence the other.
Completing pairs in the memory game gives you score or power-ups that help you with the bunny-defense game to the right. Shooting the bunnies might also drop red power-up that reveals a memory-pair for you.
When a bunny reaches the carrots one life is lost. The goal of the game is to get as high of a score as possible.
Enjoy!

I'm a sucker for "doing multiple things at once" games.
I think I would have found it easier if what I was doing with the mouse was on the right, like my mouse; but that only applies because I'm right-handed.
I do have a complaint about the sluggishness of the game, though. It's not enough to break the experience, but it does get in the way. The memory matching has a very long animation and often -due to the delays- the game would turn off a different pair than I was trying to select. I eventually got used to and compensated for the delays, but I would've preferred if when I clicked a tile it immediately turned over (or had an animation <0.2s).
The shooting bit also suffers from slight sluggishness and a general floaty feeling. Again, it's not as bad as it could be; for your first LD this isn't bad. But because of the camera angle and slow bullets and not-entirely-clear hitboxes, it was difficult for me at first to aim properly at the rabbits. I would have liked to either have clear-set columns that the rabbits would travel along, and I could jump between, or a wider projectile (like with the spread power-up, but all the time), or faster projectiles.
These are all relatively minor complaints though, and pretty subjective at the end of the day. I would have liked a snappier game, but this isn't bad. The game's pretty well-balanced, the music and visuals are very pleasant; I enjoyed myself. Thanks.
I got 1450 points!
