Story

You're an old robot with an accumulator that doesn't hold power for long anymore. You need to constantly collect batteries and attack others to survive.

Gameplay

Arrows to move, space to jump. Use different items to smash other robots. Lack of energy blinds you and makes you weaker.

Tools

  • Unity

Graphically this looks very good i love the art, two things though the gravity/jumping seems a bit off i suddenly was launched in to the air not sure if that was intentionally, Second the running out of power sound was very loud and annoying

Nice game, the movement feels a little bit whacky, but that noise effect increasing when your power is decreasing is a great idea! Good job!

Fun idea, the movement feels like it has to much force (acceleration) but other than that it was a fun game that fits the Jam :)

The game was overall fine, there were no objectives or even high score so should implement that too so users can always come back to play to beat their own score or find something new

Nice :) I like the sound effect of white noise and screen that fades out if your energy is low. However, controls are kinda tricky. You'd better to twick the mass of the robot, inertion, etc.

I liked the graphics and clean style you chose; It's very refreshing from the multitude of pixel-art games out there. Also, the shaders you used when you were running low on power were really cool as well and made it feel like you actually were the robot much more. Gameplay-wise, it took a while to learn that the only way of killing enemies was by rolling the ball into them, and it was kinda anooying when you fell off the map because you didn't know whether there was a platform below you or not, but other than that it was fun.

Love the classic Unity physics though :) Just pushing this tire along and ...

Great graphics, very crisp, nice style. The static noise while running out of power is very loud and annoying, could be toned down just a bit. Movement is a little disjointed, feels off, like the momentum value is too high. There were several times when I couldn't get jumping to work smoothly and other times when I could jump 6 or 7 times in a row launching me into orbit.

Nice entry. You could devote some more work to the basic physx control, for a platformer game, the current status of the control feedback feels too floaty, the force you apply on the player seems too high, it makes kinda too difficult to apply precise control.

The graphics were great and the running out of power graphic was brilliantly implemented! The only thing I didn't like was the when I was on full power it was sometimes hard to drive the robot! Other than that awesome job! :grinning:

Really enjoy the use of the increasing grain and static with the decreasing power! very nice controls and general feel. It's a little open-ended and there's not much of a goal besides staying alive but for the time you had it's still a solid entry!

I really liked the visual effects that indicate low power! The controls and jumping are quite touchy, but I'm guessing that's by design. Very nice!

Cool game! It's pretty similar to mine actually. I like the gameplay but I feel like the level could be designed to flow better.

Using static is a neat idea for visualizing losing power, nice.

Very cool. Smart use of adaptive audio (and visuals!). I wish there were some kind of music that got overtaken by the static, but perhaps in the post-jam version. When I first saw this, I thought of @matt-fabius 's entry, since your main characters have some similarities!

Really nice graphics and polish. Great work!

Cool game. I liked a lot this sound when I ran out of power, it was like "bale, bale". The art was really nice. I liked the atmosphere. Basically, it was cool !

I like the effect when it runs out of power, also the graphics. Need some adjustments in movements.

Really fun game, but needs some polishing, especially steering. Good Job!

Nice Idea, I had fun squishing robots with a tire. I think it needed a goal (maybe it had one but I missed it). The robot was so hard to control but it was fun to walk up the wall. The art and effects were nice too.

Fun game, to me the movements feels a bit off and its hard to maneuver. Maybe making the movement more predictable could help.

Nice use of theme here, having the robot lose power, strength and vision is really nice and does create a mood for the game. The visuals are also really well made and the sound does complement the setting, but more sound effects could make more immersive. :)

Also, the controls felt a bit too slippery for a platformer game, even though the robot has a wheel and acceleration/deceleration affects the movement. Double jumping was also pretty possible by just reaching the ledges of some platforms (which is absolutely needed) and sometimes jumping while moving was a tad frustrating because I went so far from where I wanted to go. :P

But it's a nice start overall, with polish and some additions it's a nice project to dev upon! :)

Good job!

Nice game! The art seems nice, the "static kind-of music" getting louder with lower battery was a nice detail (and the blinding at the end), the controls are way too unpredictable, but overall a great game!

Graphics are really solid, and I liked the idea of pushing huge wheels to crush smaller robots in order to get energy. The screen giving in to static as you run out of power is also a nice touch!

I think the movement needs a bit of adjustment, but other than that a good game. The movement speed starts of slow and goes up so quickly that precision platforming gets difficult. I also noticed that jumps get weaker as you lose energy, which can lead to situations were you get stuck someplace without being able to leave to find more energy.

Still, good work!
